A Closer Look at Katseye’s Beauty

Think of Katseye‘s beauty as a medley of sorts, a mix of contrasting aesthetics that, when layered, create a cohesive composition.

Established in 2024, the Grammy-winning girl group — which includes Yoonchae, Lara Raj, Sophia Laforteza, Megan Skiendiel, Daniela Avanzini and Manon Bannerman, who’s currently on a hiatus for mental health reasons — have touted almost every hairstyle, makeup technique and trend across the board, with a special affection for halo coloring, bleached brows and blushless cheeks. Here, WWD breaks down the beauty of each member, on and off the stage.

Yoonchae

A dancer and vocalist, Yoonchae’s beauty settles somewhere between Gothic pop and clean girl, depending on the occasion. Recently, the 18-year-old has been favoring bleach blond hair and light brows, juxtaposing the stark tones with misty shadow and stringent liner. She’s also become an avid fan of wigs and regularly switches between short, auburn-colored bobs and pink wavy extensions.

Yoonchae has collaborated with a number of hair and makeup artists, including Jordan Giang, but has yet to find a permanent glam team.

Lara Raj

Lara Raj is certainly a fan of full glam, but it’s never to a “cake-y” extent. While she certainly favors shimmery eyes, tight-line eyeliner, wispy lashes, glazed cheeks, contoured features and a statement-making look, all the makeup blends seamlessly together, in a skin-first glam kind of way. The same can be said of her hair, which is currently colored in a warm chocolate brown with caramel highlights and cut in face-framing layers, courtesy of Matrix. (The group was named ambassadors of the hair care brand back in February).

Sophia Laforteza

Sophia Laforteza tends to stick to a signature aesthetic, featuring inky black hair, straight-lined brows and icy shadow that melts over her lids and down into her waterline. However, she’s rarely seen with the same nail design. Thanks to artist Naomi Yasuda, a shared visionary among the group, Laforteza has boasted several sets with three-dimensional embellishments, chrome designs and contrasting patterns.

Megan Skiendiel

Like Olympic skater Alysa Liu, Megan Skiendiel is a “halo hair” girl. The color technique is similar to calico, which is modeled after the fur of calico cats, in that the finished product is highly contrasted and choppy. Think early-2000s foil highlights. However, the tricolor blend of calico hair is reduced to two opposing shades, which are painted in horizontal bands across the head, in the halo aesthetic.

Though Skiendiel’s highlights are slightly faded, the orange is still visible, especially next to her sharp cat-eye liner, matte eyes and blushed lips. For hair, she’s recently tapped Evanie Frausto and Cheyenne De La Cruz to perfect the color and style. For makeup, Skiendiel has teamed with architects Jordan Giang and Kalia Darling.

Manon Bannerman

Pre-public hiatus, Manon Bannerman was regularly spotted with bouffant coils à la Odessa A’zion. Meanwhile, her brows were neatly kept and plucked to a sharp point on the outer edges. For makeup, she preferred to keep her base minimal, opting for natural contour and sun-burnt cheeks, while her eyes were sculpted in warm hues above curled lashes.

Daniela Avanzini 

Daniela Avanzini’s glam can be likened to Alexa Demie, circa “Euphoria” Season One. Dark and daring (and very ’90s-esque), Avanzini collaborates with the same artist Demie works with: Alexandra French. But unlike Demie, Avanzini has been leaning into more controversial beauty trends, test-driving bleached brows by concealing her dark hairs and painting a field of faux freckles over the bridge of her nose. As for her hair, the singer prefers to keep her ringlets front and center, tapping Frausto to help her do so.
