Jennifer Hudson performed the national anthem at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on Sunday. The Grammy winner sang her heart out in heart-shaped Alaïa shoes.

The Oscar winner wore an all-white custom Thom Browne ensemble, which consisted of a structured, form-fitting blazer with the signature red, white, and blue ribbon corset along the back. Underneath, she wore a fitted dress that reached her feet, just long enough for her Alaïa shoes to peek through.
She opted for the Alaïa Le Cœur slingbacks in white. The slingbacks feature the signature heart cut at the front of the shoe that’s made from white patent leather. The rest of the shoe’s upper is made with a transparent polyurethane material, which showed a peek of the singer’s feet. The pointed-toe shoes, which sit on a 90 mm heel, are held in place by a strap with an adjustable buckle closure on the side made of silver metal.
Alaïa
The shoes retail for $1,500 and are also available in red and black. The designer offers the Le Cœur style in a mule sandal version with a clear strap over the foot and a stiletto heel, as well as the mule style with a wedge silhouette. They are both available in various colors and heel heights.
Hudson has been having a patriotic summer while her daytime talk show is on hiatus for the season. She wore an all-red ensemble to perform during the 2026 MLB All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park on July 14 in Philadelphia. In June, she wore an all-white suit and matching shoes for an appearance at the Barack Obama Presidential Center when it opened its doors to the public on Juneteenth.
The grand opening ceremony featured performances from Hudson, John Legend, Bruce Springsteen, The Roots, Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera, Common, Marc Anthony and more. The museum, library and education project is located in Chicago and commemorates Barack Obama’s presidency. The center will also include community and conference facilities and will house the nonprofit Obama Foundation.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 Final found Spain, the reigning champions of Europe, taking the title from Argentina, the reigning World Cup champions, in a 1-0 match. The match took place at New York New Jersey Stadium, temporarily renamed from MetLife Stadium, in East Rutherford, N.J. The tournament’s first halftime show, curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay and supporting the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, featured Justin Bieber, Madonna, Shakira, and BTS. Post Malone headlined the pre-match closing ceremony.
