The Vomero Plus has been a major hit for Nike, as the max-cushioned model is widely considered one of the best running shoes introduced in 2025 and has helped make the company’s running line the top performer in earnings report after earnings report. And soon the shoe will get its most fun treatment yet, taking a page from the couch rather than the streets.
The Nike Vomero Plus “Cheat Day” boasts a novel treatment that makes it look like fingers after you’ve scarfed down Cheetos. Starting with an all-tan treatment, a Cheeto orange is applied to the toe and fades away as it approaches midfoot. This color is then replicated on the lace tips and heel pull, and the Swoosh is removed from the upper and takes the place of the ZoomX branding on the midsole.
Nike revealed the sneaker through its Verified series on the Snkrs app, which this year began previewing upcoming sneakers in an effort to get ahead of leakers. “The Vomero Plus gets an unexpected makeover inspired by couch comfort,” the caption reads. “An orange textured fade mimics stack-stained fingertips after a cheesy indulgence.”
Sitting in the middle of Vomero 18 and Vomero Premium in the three tiers for the franchise, the Vomero Plus prioritizes comfort with ZoomX midsole in a rounded shape with a 45mm stack height. It has a wider platform and more aggressive rocker than the Vomero 18, which also differs by using both ZoomX and ReactX form.
At the top of the line is the Vomero Premium, which sits with a Nike-high stack height and adds Air Zoom units to the forefoot and heel.
The Nike Vomero Plus “Cheat Day” will release in August through Nike’s website. Pricing is set at $175.
