SUMMER ESCAPE: Etro has tapped into the sense of escapism embedded in its DNA with its latest summer activation, which involves the fashion house revamping areas of Romazzino, a Belmond hotel located in Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda.
The brand has brought its decorative flair and signature prints to the tony resort destination, reinterpreting the luxury hotel’s pool bar and outdoor spaces immersed in nature and just a few steps away from the emerald sea and striking rocks that define Costa Smeralda’s landscape.

For the project, Etro developed a bespoke fabric reimagining its paisley pattern and playing with interwoven textures in warm tones of terracotta, beige and brown blended with Mediterranean shades of sage green and teal. The vibrant prints are splashed on wooden beach chairs, cushions and table mats.
Managed by LVMH Group’s Belmond and owned by Smeralda Holding — a company indirectly controlled by Qatar Investment Authority, the sovereign wealth fund of the State of Qatar — Romazzino was founded by the Aga Khan IV in 1965. Presiding over one of the white sandy beaches in Costa Smeralda, on the bay of Porto Cervo, the structure is a haven of whitewashed walls, flowing lines and arched windows.

Its 77 rooms, 17 suites and six villas imbued with a ’60s vibe are flanked by an outdoor fitness center boasting Technogym equipment and sea views, as well as nature-inspired wellness treatments and games of tennis or padel.
The food offering include the likes of Entu e Mari, revisiting Sardinian cuisine as its daily menus showcase the island’s rich traditions and fresh local delicacies from family-run producers; the Beach Grill, making for a more informal option for alfresco dining, and the Bar Ginepro, named after the fragrant juniper trees that have adorned the Sardinian landscape for centuries.

Etro’s collaboration with Romazzino is in sync with its lifestyle ambitions and globetrotting nature, which the brand is hammering on in the transitional moment it’s experiencing after the sudden exit of its creative director Marco De Vincenzo earlier this year.
As reported, both the Etro resort 2027 and men’s spring 2027 collections designed by the in-house team reprised the codes of the brand and its traveling spirit. To further reiterate this aspect, Etro also recently launched a collaboration with British luggage brand Globe-Trotter, resulting in trolleys in different sizes wrapped in Etro’s distinctive Arnica motif and lined with multicolor striped patterns.

A special version of the luggage additionally featuring oneiric motifs and mythological creatures was created in collaboration with British curator, illustrator and painter Tabby Booth, known for her interpretations of folk art. The tie-up with Booth extended to select looks included in the Etro summer 2026 capsule line that was launched last month and promoted with a dedicated, travel-themed campaign.
