Rashida Jones Joins Danish Hair Care Brand Hårklinikken

Rashida Jones has been named the new creative adviser and partner of Danish scalp and hair health brand, Hårklinikken.

Revealed Tuesday, the actress will work alongside founder Lars Skjøth, advising on campaigns, content, consumer engagement and strategic partnerships. This marks Jones’ inaugural move into the booming business of hair, beyond the traditional celebrity collaboration or ambassadorship.

Jones is approaching the category with her own hair health journey and past insecurities top of mind. When she was young, the “I Love You, Man” star dealt with having extremely fine hair. “It was tough to get my hair into a proper ponytail because it was so fine,” she told WWD in an exclusive interview, noting that postpartum subsequently aggravated the issue. “When I had a child in my 40s, I lost a lot of hair, as expected, but what I didn’t expect is that it never grew back.”

Thankfully, she met Skjøth at a clinic in Los Angeles a year and a half later, though their meeting wasn’t so much a kismet as it was a cry to the gods of hair, and now Jones wants to pay it forward from the other side. “Hair is such a personal part of one’s image and confidence and I had a lot of shame and stress around it,” she said. “What I liked initially about Hårklinikken is that it’s a very understated brand. Its success lies in people sharing their personal, intimate experiences with friends and people they know. Lars is very humble and focused on the science and maximizes growth. I want to help amplify this globally because I think people worldwide can benefit from the larger platform.”

Jones and Skjøth have developed a close friendship over the years. This partnership was a natural progression. “I asked if there was a way I could collaborate with him and the Hårklinikken team. I did this because I know how effective their system is, which has been life changing for me personally. I know how committed Lars is to what he does and continuing to explore and innovate around hair and scalp health. I want to share this with others who can equally benefit from the products and their results,” she continued.

Over the last 34 years, Skjøth has built Hårklinikken into a science-backed ritual spanning several product categories, from traditional shampoos and conditioners to supplements, styling tools and towels. Packed with ingredients such as burdock root, sterols, fatty acids and tannins, innovations like the Hair Grown Extract are designed to strengthen the scalp to promote thicker and fuller growth. The brand operates six clinics in Copenhagen; Aarhus, Denmark; Reykjavík, Iceland; Dubai; New York, and Beverly Hills. Last year, its hero product line and signature scalp consultations, were inducted into the New York, Dallas and Los Angeles studios of celebrity facialist Joanna Czech as part of the brand’s wider expansion strategy.
