My Morning Jacket’s Jim James Releasing First Solo Album in 8 Years

Jim James has a new solo LP on the way. Wowed Out arrives August 28, via ATO. Take a kaleidoscopic woodland stroll with the My Morning Jacket singer in the video for “Come Again,” which you can see below.

“When I think about making this album, it almost feels like I was in some kind of dream and now I’m trying to remember what the dream was about,” James said in a statement. “The whole thing brought me a lot of joy and comfort while I was making it, and I hope it brings everyone else a little joy and comfort too.”

Wowed Out follows James’ 2018 record Uniform Distortion and the following year’s The Order of Nature, a collaboration with Louisville Orchestra conductor Teddy Abrams. James’ main band, having released Is last year, is gearing up for a residency at the Fillmore in San Francisco this October.
