Skechers OG Anunoby Sneakers From Game 4 Are Going up for Pre-order

Nike, Inc. isn’t the only sportswear company making the most of sneaker pre-orders following the New York Knicks’ historic championship win, as Skechers is also cashing in on what may be the defining moment of the NBA Finals.

The Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based footwear manufacturer announced Thursday that OG Anunoby’s player edition SKX Nexus will be made available for pre-order soon. The “NYC Blue” colorway of the sneaker was worn by Anunoby during Game 4 of the NBA Finals when he pulled off a miraculous tip-in following a missed three-pointer from Finals MVP Jalen Brunson. 

Anunoby’s swift reaction sealed a narrow 107-106 win for the Knicks, instantly tying the exclusive SKX Nexus style to one of the most clutch NBA moments in recent memory. 

“[Skechers] knows I often switch things up mid-game, so having a consistent flow of options helps keep me comfortable and confident on the court,” Anunoby said in a press release. “Most meaningful was the ‘NYC Blue’ PE I wore during Game 4 that was a nod to the City, my team, and most importantly, the best fans anyone could ask for.”

Following the pivotal game, Skechers announced a giveaway for the Anunoby sneakers, but it looks like that wasn’t enough to satiate fans. Now, Skechers is opening up pre-orders for the special-edition shoe, announcing that a limited run of the colorway will be made available soon.

And the player edition pre-order isn’t the only sign that Skechers is committed to Anunoby, as the company has also confirmed that a signature shoe is in the works for the Knicks star. 

“It’s too early to share specific details, but we do have a signature shoe in the works,” said Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers.
