Best Women’s Activewear Pieces to Shop Online This Year

Athleisure just might be the hottest trend in town when it comes to what all your favorite fashion inspirations are wearing on the day-to-day. Uniforms that were once reserved strictly for Pilates class and private training sessions at the gym — think matching sports bra-and-leggings sets or curve-skimming cami bodysuits — are now status-quo sights on the streets, as It-girls layer them under everything from athletic running jackets (looking at you, Kendall Jenner) to trench coats in high-low pairings that read both “off-duty model” and “city slicker.”

Of course, the very term “athleisure” is an amalgamation: of the athletic and the leisurely, resulting in clothing that blends all-day comfort and modish looks with technical specs like breathability, moisture control, and four-way stretch.

In that, athleisure is a more approachable, aesthetically pleasing take on athleticwear, a category that was once exclusive to pro athletes and NASM-certified coaches but is now more likely to be spotted on a biker short–wearing, tastemaking influencer than something not swathed in a performance fabric.

That’s where our list comes into play, featuring 11 editor-chosen winners that take the cake for being some of the best activewear brands to shop online. They might not have gotten their start in this field but are now confidently leading the pack with selections that will dress you to the nines: whether you’re squeezing in an hour of exercise before work, running weekend errands, or grabbing bottomless brunch with the girls.

These are the athleisure destinations to invest in if you’re on the hunt for top-tier constructions that won’t fail you at the exact wrong moment, trend-aware silhouettes, and behind-the-scenes innovations (such as UPF sun protection) that know you won’t settle for anything less.

From the Cali-based TravisMathew to the feminine-and-maximalist Lilly Pulitzer, these standouts straddle the line between form and function. Catch us repping them in and out of the studio.

The Best Activewear Brands of 2026, From A to Z

1. Addison Bay

Addison Bay’s “activewear for anywhere” ideology proves that getting suited up for an afternoon at the links can be just as glamorous as for a night at the gala. Fittingly, its cult faves look like they’re made for active women by active women: perceiving precisely the types of flourishes and hues that make this population feel their most gorgeous.

Addison Bay originated in 2018, stemming from its founder’s (former Division I athlete Marguerite Adzick’s) realization that much of the women’s athletic market still fell into two camps: highly specialized performance gear or fashion brands just beginning to experiment with athleisure. Adzick saw an opening for something a little more polished, proceeding to create fashions that are designed to move from the pickleball court to coffee runs and after-school activities without an outfit change needed.

Rooted in classic American sportswear, collegiate codes, and vintage country club style, Addison Bay’s aesthetic is centered on thoughtful styling and bold color stories. At a time when activewear is increasingly interchangeable, Addison Bay stands apart from the crowd with picks that are equal parts sporty and full of personality.

Long story short? It deserves a place in every chic woman’s closet.

2. B.Draddy

B.Draddy makes our list based on its surprising fusion of the aristocratic and the laidback, making activewear pieces that appear to have come straight out of a Southern belle photoshoot while retaining a contemporary, athletic flavor.

In 2013, synthetic-heavy athleisure was still the name of the game, but B.Draddy — helmed by Billy Draddy — took things in a different direction, arguing that true wearability should always begin with organic fibers. Elevated golf apparel crafted out of premium materials promptly became B.Draddy’s signature.

With time, it expanded beyond golf foundations into categories like cashmere knitwear, lifestyle outerwear, and other everyday essentials. As the assortment grew, B.Draddy’s modus operandi has stayed consistent: to sell clothes that are refined yet never too precious.

Recently, the label experienced strong momentum within women’s — outpacing the early growth of the men’s business and signaling a major area of opportunity as shoppers continue favoring sport-optimized garments with style-minded sensibilities.

At B.Draddy, comfort is never an afterthought but the final destination.

3. Lilly Pulitzer

There’s a reason the classiest woman in your life can’t stop talking about Lilly Pulitzer: Its more-is-more, retro-tinged offerings are synonymous with tradition, status, and coastal luxury. Lilly Pulitzer’s athletic line in particular? It speaks to buyers who value all three, while preferring to spend their mornings swimming laps, hitting a ball around, and otherwise elevating their heart rates.

As compared to other brands on our roundup, Lilly Pulitzer has witnessed a diametrically opposite progression — first coming to life as a socialite-run shift dress shop, propelled to fame by none other than Jackie Kennedy. Soon, the elite class had to stock their wardrobes with the tropical-hued, Florida-coded frocks, dolled up in whimsical prints and a kaleidoscope of vivid pinks, greens, and yellows.

In the ’90s, Lilly Pulitzer was revived after its founder’s retirement, transitioning to stretchier fabrics yet keeping the same amount of elegance and femininity in every new release. Lilly ownership stopped being a gatekept privilege of the rich and famous as the brand began attracting a wider slice of women — completely winning them over with the introduction of activewear in 2015, a wildly successful initiative that pampers UPF 50+ materials with the maximalist, ornate Lilly touch.

Everything at Lilly Pulitzer is covet-worthy: skirts, flared dresses, midi leggings, and bow-clad polos included. They’ll make your doubles partners stare… and rush to buy the same thing in multiples.

4. Malbon

In our eyes, Malbon is a winner because of its multifaceted approach (drawing from the spheres of art, music, and streetwear) to making athleisure you won’t want to take off at the end of the day.

Few companies have reshaped the cultural perception of golf quite like Malbon — launched by Stephen and Erica Malbon in 2017 with the goal of refreshing the sport’s existing apparel landscape (all country club coordinates and hyper-performance products propping up function while disregarding flair) to cater to a more style-conscious generation of players. Malbon proposed something radical at the time: a more relaxed portrayal of golf garb that challenged the idea of what a golfer was “supposed” to look like.

Reaching further than the fairway, Malbon managed to woo consumers as much with its community-driven storytelling as it did with the clothing rollouts themselves. Subsequently, it transformed from “niche” into “full-fledged force,” harnessing collaborations with the likes of Jimmy Choo, Adidas, and Coca-Cola to add nuance to the conversation around who golf is really for.

Malbon has singlehandedly made the sport more stylish with every tee, pant, and sweater produced. We’ll golf clap for that.

5. Renwick

Renwick’s belief that athleticwear designers were for too long a time absorbed in making men’s lives easier — and efforts to reverse this pattern by turning its gaze towards women — completely revolutionized the industry, which is why the brand is a no-brainer addition to this article.

The hero product that started it all? A striped cotton polo guided by the relaxed men’s styles women were already reaching for — not because they wanted to dress more masculine, but because they savored the inherent comfiness such shirts offered. Renwick effectively streamlined the fit for women’s bodies and needs while keeping all that effortlessness intact, and the public, quite literally, went wild.

Today, transcending its humble polo origins, the sister-led brand is busy treating loyalists to understated sweaters, skorts, and quarter-zips that honor timeless fashion principles versus chasing fleeting trends. In a world teeming with unsupported performance claims, Renwick’s draw comes from a different place — clothes that are wearable, look graceful, and don’t require a tee time to make sense.

If dressing to impress is on your agenda, Renwick is the answer. Its staples will fit as naturally into daily life as they will into your golf game.

6. Rhone

Rhone’s specialty is ideating activewear that seamlessly fills the gap between work and play.

Like Renwick, it’s a family affair: conceived by two brothers who have now spent more than “a decade obsessing over the details of how apparel can support a full and active life,” per brand copy. Keeping in mind the asks and routines of what it calls “weekday warriors,” Rhone set out to merge cream-of-the-crop craftmanship with the kinds of bells and whistles (read: anti-odor, antimicrobial fabrics and anti-chafing tech powered by flatlock stitching) that have turned the uninitiated into die-hard fans.

It was in 2024 that Rhone finally said “yes” to women’s activewear, copy-and-pasting the most alluring aspects of male-oriented merchandise like the Commuter Pants to a whole new sector. These days, you can filter Rhone top sellers by activity (lounge; tennis; run; travel; you name it) or colorway, which aptly showcases just how holistic and versatile the clothing is — letting you become the most coordinated dresser in a 100-mile radius while maintaining peak performance, every mile or point of the way.

Rhone moves with you, however it is you like to move: juggling durability, silky softness, and perfect, head-turning fits. These are styles you can take to dinner after closing your Apple Watch rings.

7. Sun Day Red

You can jetset, relax, grab drinks, and even attend parties in Sun Day Red’s prime activewear pickings — ready, as they are, to shapeshift from tournament must-haves to rest-day saviors at will.

Tiger Woods’ Sun Day Red is steeped in tradition… and a hearty dose of motherly superstition. His mom believed that red radiated strength, luck, and dominance, prompting the decorated golf legend to wear the color on Sundays — racking up wins and accolades in the process. Sun Day Red channels the same winning attitude, adapting the best parts of golfing attire to life beyond the green.

For the first few years of its existence, the brand stuck only to menswear, but all this changed in May 2026 with the unveiling of the women’s performance line, which includes golf shoes. The decision ended up being quite fortuitous, causing a stir online and enmeshing Sun Day Red’s influence even deeper in athletic circles.

Its considered pieces will equip you with the Woods-level confidence you need to take on the game and the day. There are no green jackets in sight, but Sun Day Red’s looks will make you feel like you’ve won anyways.

8. TravisMathew

While TravisMathew was born of Southern California’s bohemian, sun-sand-and-sea culture, its activewear products appeal just as much to the sophisticated, preppy, urban-dwelling lady who wants to dazzle both her book club and her squash team.

Sure, TravisMathew earned its stripes in men’s golf apparel, but the brand took a wholly different path in regards to the women’s lineup. Rather than repurposing existing prototypes, it built the category from the ground up with original designs, sourcing, and development strategies, recognizing that women were in pursuit of athleisure that was distinctly their own.

Under the direction of GM Lindsay Browder, the collection has evolved into a mix of made-to-perform golf nonnegotiables and lifestyle selects for practically floating through your day. At travismathew.com, beloved franchises like MoveKnit coexist with casual dresses, lightweight layers, and supportive bottoms. The common denominator? An almost-obsessive devotion to comfort, knowing that your roster of responsibilities is stressful enough without the annoyance of stiff, stuffy clothing.

TravisMathew understands how women are actually dressing themselves in 2026. That is, fluidly, functionally, and without rigid separations between sport and real life.

9. Tuckernuck

At Tuckernuck, Americana charm goes hand in hand with sweat-ready formulations — serving up looks for the studio, the nail salon, and every setting in between.

The color-happy, nostalgia-infused women’s lifestyle hub is named after a hidden-gem island off the coast of Nantucket, which should tell you something about its sartorial lexicon. Stocking fashion insider–approved brands from Simkhai to Cult Gaia, the “classic but never basic” Tuckernuck also runs a number of its own in-house labels.

Tnuck Sport is one of the buzziest: priding itself on “chic, play-all-day designs” that update quintessential activewear models with unexpected elements like vintage chintz and scallops. Ahead of summer 2026, the retailer also cut the ribbon on a never-before-seen Sport Collection for athletes (or those more biased towards the “leisure” part of athleisure).

Tuckernuck will give your gym outfits the upgrade they crave, swapping predictable color palettes for coquettish motifs and cheap polyester for pricey but worth-it alternatives that won’t fade, tear, or snag as you’re hitting your rep goal.

10. Vuori

Our editors give Vuori a unanimous seal of approval due to its poignant, overarching goal: securing your utmost happiness, day in and day out, as simple as that.

Vuori has been and always will be an integration of surf, fitness, and art. Fueled by trademarked, shockingly soft fabrics; sustainable manufacturing practices; impeccable tailoring; and the tenets of transitional dressing (saving you from the need to pack multiple ‘fits for your nine-to-five and five-to-nine), it’s become a veritable household name — consistently blessing day-ones with fresh arrivals like the Villa Collection, Tennis Shop, and all-new Emerald shade, as captivating as the Land of Oz.

Given Vuori’s so-called “fabric-first” philosophy, it’s only natural that each of its textures — like the DreamKnit brushed jersey or the airbrush-finished BreatheInterlock, boasting mighty thermoregulation — is not only indulgently buttery but also able to stand up to your most demanding workouts.

Vuori checks all the boxes for what an activewear brand should be like. Its community initiatives and robust wellness resources are two more jewels in the crown of all that it’s doing to push the industry forward.

11. Wilson

For a company that’s spent over a hundred years honing its game, Wilson’s unwavering commitment to excellence is to be expected.

The sporting goods mecca is not just the official ball provider for leagues like the NFL and the NBA (as well as a pop culture icon by way of its appearance alongside Tom Hanks in “Cast Away”). It’s also a leading sportswear maker as of 2021, which is when Wilson debuted a line of athleisure for men and women — transferring its rich heritage and pivotal role in sports to solution-based workout gear.

No matter if you’re in pursuit of sun protection for that mid-day padel session or an overachieving windbreaker for taking your walks from the treadmill to the trail in any weather, there’s something on Wilson’s e-shelves for even the pickiest of women.

Wilson’s clothes are best at meeting athletes where they’re at, armchair and pro alike.

History of Athleisure

According to a report published by Allied Market Research two years ago, the athleisure market is estimated to reach a $3.2-billion valuation by 2032.

The biggest driver of this overwhelming presence in the fashion space? More and more people are prioritizing health and wellness while seeking to signal such values (and their accompanying habits) to the outside world as a form of social currency.

Staying active is also not confined to the brick-and-mortar gym anymore, especially after Covid-era restrictions influenced many to build sweat sanctuaries at home, invest in equipment like Pelotons, or simply power on a YouTube video and hop on a yoga mat in their living rooms.

Stanford University’s athletic director and former Nike CEO John Donahoe sums it up best: “Sports [is] happening in many more places and that line between sport and lifestyle is blurring with athleisure.”

The modern athleisure movement as a multi-billion-dollar behemoth can be traced back to the mid-2010s, which is when OGs in the space (circa-1998 Lululemon and Athleta are good examples) were joined by newcomers like Vuori, Fabletics, and Outdoor Voices — quickly diversifying the market and granting more choices of skorts and racerback tanks than ever before.

As shared by the financial intelligence platform Quartr, this, in turn, precipitated another shift. “Customers have come to expect these types of offerings from brands,” meaning sports-meets-style products were soon embraced — had to be embraced — by companies that once solely focused on technical apparel for serious athletes.

The benefits of this evolution were myriad, allowing brands to attract a younger audience; get their foot in the door of more cultural contexts and settings; and stay tuned to the frequencies of 21st-century consumer desires.

To gain the trust of the style-savvy, sportswear brands have also been launching collaborations with established maisons at unprecedented speeds. (You don’t have to look further than Nike x Jacquemus or, in the footwear universe, New Balance and Miu Miu for evidence of the fact.)

No longer do shoppers wish to be defined by one and only one identity — be it athlete or trendsetter. Instead, they prefer to live, and dress, at the intersection. The most strategic of activewear labels are listening, and adapting their business models, to such demands.

How We Chose the Best Activewear Brands of 2026

Since 1910, WWD — often referred to as “the fashion bible” — has been the leading industry voice of authority for senior executives in the global women’s and men’s fashion, retail and beauty communities, while also informing the consumer media that cover the market. Today, WWD’s breaking news and trend coverage continues to be a trustworthy resource for both fashion insiders and consumers alike. Our shopping editors continue to uphold WWD’s editorial standards and values with quality, expert-backed product selections.

With so many brands positioning themselves squarely in the “activewear” category, we had to carry out careful screening to hone in on the very best ones — considering whether or not they had a formal expansion into performance apparel (or, on the other side of the coin, lifestyle-leaning silhouettes); the kinds of fabrics they specialize in; the clothing’s versatility outside of the court or course; the presence of special features in its compositions; how well the styles feed into today’s sartorial trends; and whether the price points correspond with industry averages for elevated athleisure.

Additionally, our team dug into customer reviews and referenced forums of public discussion like Reddit to identify the exact activewear labels women can’t stop talking about right now (and find out why). The above star players checked all of our boxes. Learn more about us here.
