Stephanie Unwin, who has been president of Veronica Beard since 2013, has been promoted to chief executive officer.
As president, Unwin led the company’s strategy, growth and operations. Under her guidance, Veronica Beard successfully expanded into new product categories such as denim, footwear, handbags and belts, as well as global markets. Her appointment as CEO formalizes the work she has been doing for more than a decade and reflects the company’s growth, rather than a change in the brand’s direction or strategy.
Unwin will continue to partner with cofounders and co-chairs Veronica Swanson Beard and Veronica Miele Beard, who remain engaged in both the day-to-day and long-term governance of the company.
“Stephanie’s partnership is invaluable. Our brand has reached incredible success with her leadership and strategic vision. We are honored that she will be our CEO,” Miele Beard said.
“This acknowledges the tremendous role Stephanie has played in shaping our business over the past 13 years,” Swanson Beard said. “Alongside Stephanie, we have turned a dream into a reality, and we are incredibly proud of the company we have built together. Veronica and I will remain hands-on with every aspect of the brand, and are so energized by the future of Veronica Beard.”
Unwin said, “I feel honored to be leading this incredible brand, and am grateful to the Veronicas and to our board for their support and trust. Veronica and Veronica are inspiring women, entrepreneurs and leaders, and it has been a privilege to help bring their vision to life. In collaboration with our extraordinary team, we have created a business that aims to elevate women and strengthen communities. We believe in an abundant future, and I am excited to continue our expansion across the globe.”
Veronica Beard has been on a fast track since launching in 2010. The company has been expanding categories and aggressively growing on the domestic and international fronts. As reported, the company plans to open a Paris flagship on June 4 on the corner of Rue Francois 1 er, in the Triangle d’Or luxury district.
The store marks Beard’s sixth international boutique, joining stores in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and London (Bruton Street and Sloane Square). Overall, the company has 47 stores, with the newest location having opened May 14 in Jackson Hole, Wyo.
According to market sources, the brand is approaching $400 million in annual revenues. Veronica Beard was awarded the 2025 WWD Honor for Company of the Year, Private last October.
