MILAN – Yigit Turhan is to join Ferragamo as its new chief brand officer, WWD has learned.
It is understood that an internal announcement was made on Friday and Turhan will join the company effective May 18. He’s expected to succeed Michela Ratti in the role and report to chief transformation and sustainability officer James Ferragamo.
Turhan’s new job will see him overseeing activities across marketing, communication, visual merchandising and CRM, among others.
After previous experiences at the Ermenegildo Zegna Group and Gucci, Turhan was most recently at Valentino. He joined the Roman house in 2018 and covered different roles, including director of brand strategy before being appointed chief marketing officer in 2023. He exited Valentino in February.
Turhan’s appointment at Ferragamo follows the one of former longtime CEO of The Estée Lauder Companies Fabrizio Freda as special strategic adviser of Ferragamo Finanziaria SpA, the holding company of the Ferragamo family and the controlling shareholder of Salvatore Ferragamo SpA.
It also closely follows the company’s reporting of its first-quarter financial results on Thursday. As of March 31st, the group totaled revenues of 209 million euros, down 5.5 percent at current exchange rates and down 1.2 percent at constant exchange rates compared to the same period last year.
In the 12 months ended Dec. 31, consolidated revenues amounted to 976.5 million euros, down 5.7 percent compared with 2024. At constant exchange rates, the decrease stood at 3.8 percent.
