Bad Bunny’s Adidas Ballerina Returns With Vibrant Red Look

A little over a year has passed since Bad Bunny’s Adidas Ballerina made its debut, and releases for the sneaker’s first three colorways were all condensed into March and April 2025. The collaborative line has since focused on other silhouettes, including the launch of Benito’s first signature sneaker, but a new iteration of the dance-influenced model will bring it back into the spotlight.

The Bad Bunny x Adidas Ballerina “Flamboyan” takes its name and its vibrant red treatment from the tree that serves as a strong cultural symbol for Puerto Rico. Tonal red color blocking runs through the upper’s canvas base, suede overlays and satin collar. A marron lace toggle and rubberized lace tips continue the monochrome theme, which is then broken up by white leather striping and a gum sole.

Marks for the artist are then scattered throughout via gold “Benito” embossing, an “Adidas Para Bad Bunny” stamp on the midsole, an external product tag on the heel and the signature zig-zag-stitched tongue tag.

Based on the Taekwondo sneaker from the ’80s, the Ballerina got its initial launch in gold and was quickly followed up with black-and-white and white-and-black variants. Claire Sterling, an Adidas designer who worked on the collaboration, told Footwear News Bad Bunny wanted a shoe that would speak to his fanbase but wasn’t too overly feminine. Having dance meet martial arts was the solution, as the two worlds aren’t so far apart upon examination.

“With taekwondo, as a sport, there’s this feeling of dance that comes into it, where it’s not necessarily like choreographed in the way that like ballet or salsa or ballroom dancing is, but where there’s still that, like beautiful sense of motion to it,” Sterling said.

The Bad Bunny x Adidas Ballerina “Flamboyan” will first release Friday through the New York City boutique All the Right before a wider May 30 release through the Confirmed app and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $120.
