Safilo Group on Tuesday said it has signed an exclusivity agreement with Bollé Brands to acquire Spy+ and Serengeti.
Both are U.S. based and known for their sport and outdoor focus; together, Spy+ and Serengeti generated sales of about $39 million in 2025.
Spy+ is rooted in Southern California action sports culture and known for the patented Happy Lens technology — a therapeutic, color-enhancing lens that boosts mood and alertness. It is understood that the purchase will enable Safilo to boost its presence in the sport and outdoor channels, as a complement with Smith, one of the group’s in-house brands.
Serengeti, known for its mineral lenses and American heritage, will represent a key asset for Safilo in the high‐end eyewear segment, the Italian company said, supporting a distinctive and premium positioning.

Along with in-house brands Carrera, Polaroid, Smith, Blenders, Privé Revaux and Seventh Street, the eyewear company has a deep roster of licensed brands including Carolina Herrera, Etro, Isabel Marant, Juicy Couture, Kate Spade New York and more.
Last month the Padua, Italy-based eyewear group shared that it had doubled net profits, helped significantly by a reduction in financial charges and net debt, with the company expressing confidence in its full-year 2026 performance.
The acquisition is in line with Safilo’s previously outlined strategy, focused on the selective purchase of brands capable of strengthening the group’s presence in high-growth segments and elevating its in-house brand portfolio.
