Alo is set to launch its first trail sneaker as the wellness lifestyle company continues to invest in the footwear category.
Aptly named the Alo Trail, the sneaker is described by the company as a “a high-performance silhouette engineered for multi-terrain movement.” To accomplish this, the Alo design team added an oversized sole to the model along with a speed drawcord lacing system with locking closure, and a stabilizing heel clip for added support.
Abby Gordon, chief officer of design and merchandising at Alo, told FN in an interview that creating this shoe was all about offering consumers a “fashion-forward look that would be at home on city streets and styled for all-day wear.”
“I love the oversized traction pattern on the sole,” Gordon said. “It gives the Trail a very rugged look, while delivering the grip and performance needed for trial running. However, I really think that it’s the overall look of the shoe, and how the different design elements come together, that sets it apart.”
The Alo Trail marks the brand’s fourth sneaker silhouette since it launched the category in May 2023 with the Recovery Mode sneaker. One year later, the company debuted the Alo Runner, which launched in August 2024. And in July 2025, Alo dipped its feet into the low-profile footwear trend with the launch of the Sunset sneaker.

For Gordon, Alo’s approach to footwear is all about address consumer needs. “We design for the different phases of our customer’s day, from movement to recovery and everything in between, and approach everything with a balance of fashion and function,” the executive noted. “As our customers’ needs evolve, we’ll continue to meet them where they are.”

Early reaction has been positive. “Our consumers like that our shoes deliver on performance, recovery, and style, and everyone who has tried the Trail has loved it,” she said.
To show the new sneaker’s multi-terrain sensibilities, Alo has unveiled a new campaign starring professional boxer Ben Whittaker and supermodel Daiane Sodré that spotlights the shoe’s function.
In London, the IBF International light-heavyweight champion Whittaker is seen moving through his daily rhythm, transitioning from trail runs to training sessions. And in France, Sodré captures mindful movement in motion, traveling from the fashion capital’s city streets to the salt flats of Camargue.
“Mindfulness is deeply embedded in Alo’s DNA, and that became a big source of inspiration for this campaign,” added Summer Nacewicz, executive vice president of marketing and creative at Alo. “We wanted to capture that transcendent feeling you find in the flow of a run — when mind and body connect, distractions fall away, and you feel open to anything.”
The Alo Trail, which will retail for $295 and will be offered in Black, White and Gravel colorways, will be available on Alo.com and in Alo Sanctuaries worldwide on April 9.
