Charles Tyrwhitt has signed Luke Donald, the European Ryder Cup captain and former number-one ranked golfer, as its newest global sports ambassador.
The signing marks the first professional golfer to join the brand’s ambassador ranks.
As global sports ambassador, the 48-year-old Englishman will wear the Charles Tyrwhitt collection for key events off the course. He will also be the face of the brand’s summer campaign, “Summer’s in Swing,” launching globally in May. The launch shoot for the campaign took place at The Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Fla., the private course founded in 1999 by Jack and Barbara Nicklaus.
“While I still love to compete on the golf course, I’ve had the opportunity in recent years to spend more time speaking about leadership, performance and what it takes to build a winning team,” Donald said. “Those occasions — whether it’s a formal dinner, a corporate event, or a fireside chat — require a different kind of preparation.

Over the course of his career Donald held the world number-one ranking for a total of over 56 weeks, won five PGA tour and eight international tournaments and is unbeaten in six Ryder Cups for Europe.
Charles Tyrwhitt also has sporting deals with the New York Yankees, England Rugby, The British & Irish Lions and Fulham FC, Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe, and Rugby ambassadors Marcus Smith and Matt Dawson.
