Linda Cardellini’s Metallic Gold Sandals Turn Heads in London

Linda Cardellini proved the power of metallic heels on Wednesday night, punctuating her red minidress with high-shine gold sandals at the HBO Max UK and Ireland launch party at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.

The “DTF St. Louis” star was seen in Gianvito Rossi’s Ribbon sandals, opting for what appears to be the 105mm version — the silhouette’s tallest heel offering. Handmade in Italy, the shoes feature a sharp square toe with angular edges, as well as a strap across the upper to keep the toes in place. A slingback ankle strap, emblazoned with Gianvito Rossi’s signature Ribbon buckle, nods to the sandal’s name. For something a touch more understated, the heels come in black and nude, too.

Gianvito Rossi’s Ribbon sandals have quickly become a celebrity favorite. Rita Ora, for one, wore the black pair to the Gala One Saint-Tropez 2025 last summer with a crinkled black dress from Prada’s spring 2009 collection. Margaret Qualley, too, opted for the black pair at the “Honey Don’t!” New York Screening in August, pairing the shoes with a black mini. Though the Portofino sandals may still remain the brand’s most recognizable silhouette, the Ribbon silhouette is nipping at its heels.

Cardellini’s approach to styling the sandals? Pairing them with an equally striking outfit. For the party, the actress slipped into a red-hot strapless minidress defined by a voluminous silhouette, bubble-like hem and soft, gathered folds. The “Scooby-Doo” actress accented the look with dangly earrings, skipping a necklace and bracelets.  

Last night’s soirée celebrated HBO Max’s launch in UK and Ireland, which has officially kicked off. Cardellini was joined by fellow HBO stars, including Noah Wyle (from “The Pitt”), Steve Carell (“Rooster), True Whitaker (“I Love LA”), Marisa Abela (“Industry”) and Aimee Lou Wood (“The White Lotus”), among others.
