PRESIDENT PICCHIONE: Nick Picchione has been promoted to the newly created position of president of Robert Talbott.
Formerly senior vice president of merchandising and design, Picchione has a rich résumé that includes 15 years at Ralph Lauren where he rose to senior vice president and chief merchandising officer. Earlier on, he held senior merchandising roles at Armani, including senior vice president of men’s merchandising.
In his new role at Robert Talbott, Picchione will guide the brand’s strategic direction, product vision and business growth.
At the same time, Louis Costa was promoted to national sales manager of Robert Talbott North America. He will oversee all accounts in California and the Northern U.S. Konstantine Young has joined the company as Southern U.S. sales manager, reporting to Costa. He served for the past 14 years as vice president of sales for Byron Clothing.
Sebastian Dollinger continues as creative director of the brand, but James Watson, senior vice president of brand development, has exited the company. Watson has returned to Eleventy as senior vice president of sales and product development for men’s and women’s. He had formerly worked at the brand as international sales manager.
The Robert Talbott label was created 75 years ago by Robert and Audrey Talbott, who left the East Coast with their son Robb in 1950 and moved to Carmel, Calif., where they started a business based on Audrey Talbott’s skill creating handcrafted silk neckwear. The company eventually expanded into shirts, men’s made-to-measure tailored clothing, knitwear, sportswear, leathers and womenswear. Robert Talbott died in 1986 and Audrey ran the business until her death in 2004, when it was passed to Robb. He ultimately sold the business to Relevant Brands Holdings, which sold the company to Newtimes Group in 2021.
