Jurnee Smollett gave monochrome dressing a contemporary spin in a L’Agence look with shades of brown for the AAFCA Special Achievement Awards luncheon on Sunday in Los Angeles.
The actress wore the Erma patchwork faux leather midi skirt courtesy of the Los Angeles-based luxury fashion brand. Featuring faux leather and faux suede, the high-waisted skirt included a geometric pattern with sharp angles for a contemporary design inspiration.

Smollett paired her midi skirt with a long-sleeve brown top with a rounded neckline. Juxtaposing the brown monochrome look, the actress added a pair of pointed-toe black heels. As for accessories, Smollett chose to go the minimalist route, adding a quiet luxury bent to her red carpet look.
Glam for the actress was equally subdued. Smollett’s black hair was styled with barrel curls and worn down with a middle part. Makeup highlights for the actress included bold brows, lightly lined eyes and a glossy lip for a final touch.

Founded in 2008 by Jeff Rudes and Margaret Maldonado, L’Agence’s luxury styles are tailored to Southern California ease with a Parisian luxury sensibility. The brand focuses on feminine designs, curating versatile pieces with timeless qualities.
2026 marks a moment for the brand’s expansion. After introducing footwear in 2021, L’Agence put an intentional spotlight on the brand’s fall 2026 footwear offerings under fashion director Tara Rudes Dann. “It is my dream shoe collection, spanning platform booties and pointed kitten heels to embellished over-the-knee boots and workwear-inspired pieces,” Rudes Dann told Footwear News last February.

“Our footwear collection was so important to the way we styled the looks for our [New York Fashion Week] presentation. The knee-high boots drove some of the styling decisions. We tucked billowy jeans and trousers into them, creating a new silhouette that feels fresh.”
Smollett was among several attendees at the African American Film Critics Association Special Achievement Awards, honoring the trailblazing leaders and creatives who made significant contributions to film and television.
