Cynthia Erivo’s Blood-Red Boots Turn Heads at ‘Dracula’ Press Night

Cynthia Erivo leaned on Givenchy to design her look for her press night performance of “Dracula” at the Noel Coward Theatre on Tuesday in London. The actress stood tall in a pair of custom red leather boots, made for her by Sarah Burton, featuring the “Wicked” star’s go-to platform-shoe silhouette.

Erivo kept it consistent with the play’s overall color palette, opting for a red-and-black ensemble. According to the fashion house, she wore a custom red leather cocoon coat with matching red boots and a mini pinch bag to the event. The boots featured a knee-high design, a sharp pointed toe, a lofty platform sole and a pleated front shaft.

The heels featured a block style and measured around four to five inches. The shoes featured a zipper on the inner side of the leg. The cocoon coat featured exaggerated and structured shoulders, with a cinched waist that gave the jacket a tailored, contoured shape. She paired it with a black turtleneck and leggings underneath.

On stage, Erivo put on a monochrome ensemble, opting for a pair of pinstripe pants and all-black Puma Speedcat sneakers. The low-profile shoes were made with a black suede upper, including suede on the Puma formstrip, a trademark stripe found on the sides of Puma footwear.

The actress has been known to adopt a method-acting approach to promoting projects, opting for green-and-black looks while promoting “Wicked” and “Wicked: For Good,” inspired by her character Elphaba. The singer often pairs her ensembles with towering boots and heels by Christian Louboutin, Casadei and more.

Erivo is taking on all 23 roles in Tony Award-nominated director Kip Williams’ reimagining of the immortal Gothic horror. The project takes place deep in the desolate wilderness where a crumbling castle stands with a mysterious presence lurking within. For centuries, Count Dracula has waited in hiding and follows as it comes out of the shadows. “Dracula” runs until May 31 at the Noel Coward Theatre in London.
