SkyWatch has announced the addition of Spexi orthomosaic drone imagery to its platform, expanding access to standardized aerial data for mapping and analysis. The integration allows users to source ultra-high-resolution drone imagery directly through SkyWatch’s EXPLORE and HUB applications.
With the launch, SkyWatch customers can access Spexi’s stitched, orthorectified imagery over 38 cities across North America. Each dataset supports overlays, planning, and measurement workflows in a range of sectors including infrastructure, utilities, and insurance.
Ultra-High-Resolution Drone Coverage
Spexi’s orthomosaic drone imagery delivers 2.8-centimeter ground sample distance (GSD). By uploading reference imagery, users can refine geospatial alignment for even greater precision.
Bill Lakeland, CEO of Spexi, said, “Making Spexi’s orthomosaic imagery available on SkyWatch dramatically lowers the friction of accessing ultra-high-resolution drone data. Customers can now programmatically request and integrate pinpoint drone coverage into their existing workflows, without the complexity typically associated with drone operations.”
The integration provides a high temporal and spatial resolution complement to traditional aerial or satellite capture methods. Organizations can now operationalize local drone datasets within broader Earth observation strategies.
Expanding Access to Earth Observation Data
James Slifierz, CEO and Co-Founder of SkyWatch, stated, “SkyWatch is built to remove barriers between organizations and the data they need to make decisions. By adding Spexi’s orthomosaic drone imagery to our platform, we’re giving customers a powerful new way to capture fine-grained, decision-grade detail and integrate it seamlessly into their geospatial and analytics environments.”
In future, SkyWatch will offer premium pricing for Spexi orthomosaic datasets to selected customers. Other upcoming phases may include additional Spexi products, such as oblique imagery, multi-view datasets, and panoramic captures.
