Angelina Jolie went for opulent elegance in a semi-sheer Givenchy dress for the Paris premiere of her film “Couture” on Monday night.
The “Girl, Interrupted” Oscar winner styled a midi dress with botanical inspiration strewn across the sheer fabric of the dress, with shimmering silver embroidery, beadwork and tassels that added a striking opulence to the overall look.

Courtesy of the French luxury fashion house, now under the creative direction of Sarah Burton, the Givenchy dress was crafted with a formfitting silhouette and short cap sleeves. Seemingly weighted down by the silver embellishments throughout, the midi dress included further fringe detailing at the hem. Jolie paired the dress with black heels.
As for accessories, the actress went minimalist with a set of stud earrings, keeping her dress the centerpiece of her attire. Jolie’s blond-highlighted hair was coiffed with a side part and styled in soft waves that cascaded down her shoulders. Her makeup included lined eyes and a soft lip.

Jolie’s latest film has a deep tie to the fashion industry. “Couture” filmmaker Alice Winocour partnered with Chanel during production, providing the director backstage access to the storied French luxury fashion house’s shows. Chanel also gave Winocour permission to film key scenes in its haute couture salons and workshops in Paris, in addition to providing the wardrobe for a pivotal fashion show scene.
“With every project, I enjoy delving into a world that’s new to me and approaching it almost like a documentary,” Winocour told WWD ahead of the “Couture” premiere at Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025.

“Couture” follows filmmaker Maxine Walker, played by Jolie, who travels to Paris for fashion week to film a documentary. During her travels, she is diagnosed with breast cancer and finds her journey unexpectedly intersecting with a makeup artist and model. The film hits theaters Feb. 18.
