LONDON — China‘s leading fashion publisher Huasheng Media has onboarded a trio of industry veterans for the launch of Another Magazine‘s Chinese edition.
Another China will be the Dazed Media-owned title’s first international edition in its 25-year history. It will be published every two months, with the first issue slated for May.
The two had jointly launched the Chinese edition of its sister publication Another Man in 2024. Dazed Media’s other international editions include Dazed Korea and Dazed MENA.
Monica Mong and Jeff Lee have been named editor in chief and fashion director, respectively, at Another China, while Cui Dan returns to Huasheng Media as group editor in chief, overseeing both Another China and Another Man China.
Cui was the longtime fashion director of GQ China, and later launched his own creative platform, CanU. He joined Huasheng Media as a partner briefly in 2018. Now a broker between China and the world of fashion, in 2025 he facilitated the activewear giant Anta, which boasts some 7,000 stores in China, to link up with Kris Van Assche to spearhead the nascent Anta Zero subbrand.
Cui said Another China will be positioned as a platform that reflects China’s complex, ambitious and globally connected creative community, and give space to their voices, aesthetics and ideas that are shaping the future.
Prior to Another China, Mong has held roles such as managing editor at L’Officiel Malaysia and fashion creative director at large at Wallpaper China. She is also an exhibition curator and a creative director, having worked with brands including Self-Portrait, Zara, Balenciaga, Gucci and Dior.
Lee is a Shanghai-based fashion stylist. He has been working with top fashion brands and publications in China and beyond for the past decade. Most recently he styled Eileen Gu for the Time magazine cover.
Dazed Media’s cofounder and chief executive officer Jefferson Hack said the Another China launch marks “a bold new chapter connecting visionary talent and audiences across East and West.”
Huasheng Media owner Chuxuan Feng said he is excited to expand the partnership and replicate the success of Another Man by bringing the AnOther brand to China.
“The Chinese creative scene is not just growing, it’s redefining global taste. Launching during Another’s 25th anniversary provides the perfect moment to support, archive and amplify the next wave of boundary-breaking voices,” he added.
Founded in 2016, Huasheng Media is backed by CMC Inc., one of China’s leading media conglomerates. The group publishes the Chinese editions of T Magazine, Wallpaper, Another Man, Fast Company, Food & Wine and Nylon.
The company last week revealed a high-profile partnership with Shaway Yeh, one of China’s best-known fashion editors and an advocate for green fashion.
A major part of the link-up will see the two jointly develop content-led brand initiatives across Europe and Southeast Asia, with cross-cultural communication and business being the key areas. The partnership will also support the continued development of projects under Yeh’s sustainability agency Yehyehyeh.
