Luxe Home Design Collaboration Launch

MILAN — Perigold, an online destination for upscale home and interior products, ventured into the fashion world with a collaboration with Olivia Palermo.

On Monday, Perigold told WWD that as a part of the collaboration, the fashion influencer led the design of the interiors of her Manhattan home entirely through Perigold’s e-commerce platform, with support from Perigold Design Services.

Founded in 2017 and owned by Boston-based Wayfair Inc., Perigold brings together more than 460,000 products from over 1,000 of the world’s leading design brands.

Strategically, Perigold’s team said that going forward, they are looking for genuine and authentic partnerships that resonate with their loyal clients, who are eager to see and experience new, luxurious interiors. Future potential partnerships could come from the world of food, spirits and travel among them, Nancy Soriano, head of Perigold’s editorial and partnerships, told WWD in an interview.

“It’s not for the sake of putting a large name on it… It was Olivia’s sense of style and her place in the world of fashion,” Soriano said, adding that the final designs of Palermo’s home were both luxurious and personal.

“It felt aligned with her audience and for Perigold, it was about reaching a potentially younger demographic that is focused on craftsmanship, style and design,” Soriano added, underscoring that this collaboration from start-to-finish was a compelling story about translating fashion style into interiors.

In a statement, Palermo commented on the ease in which Perigold helped her complete this new design experience.

“The ability to curate timeless, high-quality pieces from so many incredible brands, all in one place, made it possible to bring my vision to life in a way that feels both elevated and effortless,” she said of her interior designs that came together in a seamless fusion of classic European style with contemporary elements.

Globally, the home industry has become a new platform for celebrities to explore creative projects. For instance, both Paris Hilton and Drew Barrymore have collaborated with Walmart on cookware, while Kathy Hilton and Nicky Hilton Rothschild have lent their design sensibilities to carpets for Ruggable. Before her passing, Diane Keaton teamed up with San Francisco’s Hudson Grace. Meanwhile, Gwyneth Paltrow and John Legend have partnered with CB2 and Rove Concepts, respectively, on furniture collections, and Jake Gyllenhaal has curated a Tuscan-inspired table setting with Ginori 1735’s Oriente Italiano floral plates.

The details and the products from Perigold’s collaboration with Olivia Palermo will roll out through a series of curated content across social platforms starting Tuesday, and will be shoppable on Perigold.com.
