Puma x LGN Reimagine the Mostro as a Punk-studded Ballet Flat

Puma and French designer Louis Gabriel Nouchi are continuing their Mostro collaboration with the Puma x LGN Mostro Ballet, reimagining the 1999 hybrid as a minimalist slip-on ballet flat with punk-coded texture.

The Mostro Ballet translates the original shoe’s spiked sole into an allover surface treatment. Small, raised rubber dots cover the toe and forefoot, then repeat in clustered groupings along the sides. Larger cone-like studs tighten along the edge of the upper and wrap the heel perimeter, while a wide elastic strap crosses the instep, stamped with tonal “PUMA x LGN” branding.

The silhouette comes in two neutral colorways: a black-on-black version with a black upper, black studs, black strap and black outsole, and a deep brown pair finished with lighter taupe studs, a matching brown strap and a brown sole.

The Mostro Ballet keeps the franchise’s original traction language intact with a low rubber sole that nods to the sport-ready grip pattern of the 1999 Mostro, with its toothy tread visible along the outsole edge.

The slip-on format emphasizes ease of wear, an approach that continues across the Puma x LGN Mostro releases. In September 2025, Puma and Nouchi released the Mostro Sock, an ankle-high version that swaps the signature strap for a sock profile while keeping the spiked rubber sole and textured tread. Earlier that year, the Mostro Mule arrived as a backless slip-on in tonal black-and-white, then expanded into two-tone brown and dark green colorways.

The ballet flat interpretation also lands amid Puma’s broader exploration of ballet-adjacent footwear. In June 2025, the brand partnered with Balenciaga on a Speedcat Ballerina hybrid rendered in satin, merging motorsport heritage with a flattened slip-on shape. Later that year, Puma released “Lux” versions of the Speedcat line, including the Speedcat Ballet Lux.

The Puma x LGN Mostro Ballet dropped on Saturday and is now available from louisgabrielnouchi.com and select Puma stockists.
