Princess Charlene Favors Subdued Elegance for Sainte-Devote Ceremony

Princess Charlene of Monaco gave occasion dressing a monochrome approach on Tuesday for the 2026 Ceremony of the Sainte-Devote in Monaco.

For the special event, the royal added modern touches to her monochrome look. Princess Charlene wore a long-sleeve navy wool coat with a scarf incorporated into the design of the collar. The royal’s coat was crafted with a streamlined silhouette and midi hem.

Princess Charlene coordinated her coat with a pair of leather gloves and pointed-toe pumps for the chilly January day. As for accessories, the royal wore a navy headband to augment her monochrome attire and carried a small navy bag to boot.

Jewelry selections included a pair of diamond stud earrings and a shimmering Tiffany & Co. brooch. Princess Charlene’s makeup remained classic, with lined eyes and a soft pink lip for an added touch of warm color.

Monochrome styling has turned into quite the trend for several high-profile royals. Also on Tuesday, Kate Middleton was spotted out with her own monochrome attire, wearing British luxury fashion brands like Holland Cooper and Jigsaw in varying shades of brown for her visit to communities in the north of England.

Like the United Kingdom’s Princess of Wales, Princess Charlene often styles monochrome looks for royal outings and special occasions. For Monaco National Day in November 2025, Princess Charlene wore a Giorgio Armani crisp white suit, with coordinated trousers, blouse and blazer.

The Ceremony of the Sainte-Devote, which Princess Charlene attended alongside her husband Prince Albert II, commemorates Sainte Devote, who is the patron saint of the Principality of Monaco and France’s Mediterranean Corsica island.
