MFE Inspection Solutions launches MFE Offshore

New MFE Offshore unit expands use of uncrewed systems for offshore and maritime operations

MFE Inspection Solutions has launched MFE Offshore, a new division dedicated to subsea and offshore inspection operations, with a strong focus on drone and robotic inspection technologies. Announced January 22, 2026, in Houston, Texas, the division is designed to support offshore oil and gas, offshore wind, and maritime operators that rely on uncrewed systems to inspect hard-to-reach assets.

MFE Offshore builds on the company’s long history in inspection technology while extending its expertise into offshore environments where aerial and underwater drones play a growing role. The division combines specialized equipment, training, and technical support to help operators deploy uncrewed systems in challenging offshore conditions.

“Offshore inspections are incredibly complex, and demand more than just good equipment,” said Dylan Duke, CEO of MFE Inspection Solutions. “For over 30 years, MFE has supported industrial inspections by helping customers choose the right tools, train their teams, and build workflows that actually work in the field. MFE Offshore formalizes that approach for subsea and offshore operations, bringing together specialized technology, deep technical support, and experienced offshore leadership.”

Expanding Drone Use Offshore

Offshore inspections increasingly rely on drones and remotely operated systems to reduce risk and improve access. Aerial drones support inspections of platforms, wind turbines, and flare stacks. Underwater drones and subsea robotic systems enable inspection of submerged structures without the need for divers.

Many inspection tools are developed for controlled environments. Offshore settings introduce saltwater exposure, tight access points, and limited operating windows. MFE Offshore was created to help operators select drone and subsea systems designed to perform reliably in these conditions.

The division supports technologies such as aerial inspection drones, underwater drones, and subsea positioning systems. According to MFE, the focus is on systems that can be deployed safely and effectively in real-world offshore operations.

Consultative Support for Uncrewed Systems

MFE Offshore follows a consultative model that reflects MFE’s broader approach to inspection technology. Rather than supplying hardware alone, the team works closely with customers to define inspection needs and select appropriate uncrewed systems.

Support includes hands-on training for drone and robotic system deployment, assistance during implementation, and ongoing engagement after deployment. The goal is to ensure inspection teams can operate uncrewed systems confidently and consistently in offshore environments.

“Offshore personnel don’t have the luxury of trial and error,” said Wendy Post, General Manager of MFE Offshore, who brings more than 25 years of offshore industry experience. “Harsh environments, limited access, and tight inspection windows mean everything has to work the first time. MFE Offshore was built to support those realities, helping operators find inspection tools designed for offshore use, training teams to deploy them correctly, and staying engaged long after the equipment arrives.”

Leadership Experience in Marine and Subsea Operations

Wendy Post brings more than 25 years of offshore experience to her role leading MFE Offshore. She has spent over a decade in leadership roles across the offshore and marine technology sectors.

Post also helped found the Southeast chapter of the Hydrographic Society of America. She served for 14 years on regional and national boards within the hydrographic and marine technology community. MFE says this background supports the division’s focus on practical deployment of uncrewed systems in offshore settings.

Extending MFE’s Drone and Inspection Mission

MFE Inspection Solutions serves more than 9,000 companies and delivers over 26,000 hours of training each year. With the launch of MFE Offshore, the company extends its inspection and drone expertise into offshore and subsea markets.

As offshore operators continue to adopt aerial and underwater drones, MFE Offshore aims to support that transition with technology selection, training, and long-term operational support.
