PARIS – L’Oréal is investing more than 350 million euros in its first global tech hub, which is located in Hyderabad, India.
The project was announced Wednesday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. There, L’Oréal chief executive officer Nicolas Hieronimus met with Shiri D. Sridhar Babu, honorable minister for IT, electronics and industries in India, and Sanjay Kumar, special chief secretary, government of Telangana.
“This first-of-its-kind Beauty Tech hub will serve as a flagship for crafting the next general of AI-powered beauty innovation and services,” L’Oréal said in a statement.
The initial investment is to be made through 2030. L’Oréal said “the hub is set to become a global powerhouse, unleashing the potential of data, AI, generative AI and agentic AI, alongside emerging technologies.”
At the location will be 2,000 employees with advanced tech jobs, including AI specialists, tech engineers and data scientists. Their focus will be to speed up delivery of AI-powered solutions at scale.
The news comes at the kick-off of 2026 being the year of India-France Innovation.
“By anchoring this Tech Hub in Hyderabad, L’Oréal will actively contribute to the state’s growth in digital ad tech excellence, and high-skilled tech talent,” L’Oréal said.
