Bryce Harper is back in the Under Armour fold.
After posting over the weekend that he was a “free agent” when it came to his apparel and footwear, the Philadelphia Phillies star has extended his contract with the Baltimore-based sports brand.
Once again turning to social media, Harper wrote on Instagram Tuesday: “Never a doubt. After 15 years, I’m proud to continue my partnership with Under Armour. Together we’ve made history and that doesn’t stop now.”
A spokesperson from Under Armour confirmed the two had reached a deal, sending along a comment from the outfielder and first baseman. “Under Armour has been part of my baseball career and journey for 15 years, and that’s not changing. I am proud to continue partnering with Under Armour on the longest-running active signature series footwear in baseball history. I look forward to this next chapter as we continue to push the limits of what’s possible.”
The company said his first signature cleat of 2026 — the 11th of the partnership — will be released in February and the deal includes apparel.
Under Armour signed Harper in 2011 when he was still a teenager, and made him the face of Under Armour Baseball. Four years later, the two signed a 10-year contract extension, which was the largest endorsement deal at the time for a baseball player. Other players on the UA Baseball roster include Freddie Freeman, Vinnie Pasquantino, Hyun-soo Kim, Juan Soto, Fernando Tatís Jr. and Bobby Witt Jr.
Signing Harper to an extension is indication of a new day for Under Armour. In November, it parted ways with NBA star Stephen Curry after a decade. But its deal with Harper indicates the company is ready to move on.
