Joanna Goddard

Last night, I went out for pasta with my Soup Group, and my friend Gisela snapped these photos as I started telling a story. I was so grateful she captured a moment laughing with friends and want to remember to snap more candid photos of loved ones this year.

We had a few posts ready for today, but none of them seemed quite right. It’s hard to know what to say when so much is happening in and around our lives, and the news is so consuming. To take a deep breath together, I’d love to ask you: what are the good things you’re holding close?

I would say: chatting with my beautiful boys at bedtime; texting with my niece, who is an elite finder of cat gifs; reading The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny, an epic 700-page novel about two sprawling Indian families; stretching out in bed at night and feeling so comfy in cool sheets; and walking on sunny winter days, which feel like a pick-me-up.

Please tell me below. And if you’re struggling to find the good right now, I hear you. Sending so much love your way, as always.

P.S. 11 simple pleasures, and what non-flashy things do you love?
