Rigi Technologies SA, a Swiss developer of long-range drone logistics solutions, announced a strategic expansion on November 26 aimed at enabling logistics companies to deploy and scale drone delivery operations in Europe and the United States. Building on its established record of commercial flights and regulatory certifications, RigiTech’s approach centers on providing logistics operators with certified, turnkey aerial systems—rather than competing as a delivery service itself.
“RigiTech drones are ready to become the ultimate vehicle for logistics companies to enter the drone delivery market,” said David Rovira, Co-Founder of RigiTech.
Most commercial drone delivery, to date, has been the domain of vertically integrated companies such as Google Wing, Amazon, Manna, and Zipline, all of whom operate both the technology and the service network—directly competing with traditional logistics providers. By contrast, RigiTech’s business model empowers third-party logistics companies to deploy air delivery networks without the need for proprietary in-house engineering.
“A great chef doesn’t forge her own pans, she perfects the recipe. At RigiTech, we believe great logistics companies shouldn’t have to build their own vehicles, but instead focus on delivering excellence,” Rovira explained.
RigiTech’s drone systems have been in daily operation since 2021 and are currently used to move medical supplies in Uruguay, deliver cancer medicines in upstate New York, and support healthcare logistics in France and Romania. With its primary user base in Europe and a growing footprint in the United States, RigiTech reports that the majority of its missions support routine hospital and laboratory logistics.
At the heart of the platform is a robust, long-range VTOL quadplane with a three-meter wingspan, designed for B2B deliveries up to 100 kilometers one way and cruising at 105 km/h. The system’s battery-swap feature enables efficient turnaround for continuous services. Compared to short-range multicopters, the aircraft extends operational reach by as much as tenfold.
While healthcare applications remain core to RigiTech’s business, the company is expanding to broader commercial logistics markets—including spare parts, industrial supply, and time-critical express parcel delivery—by partnering with established third-party providers.
“Our vision is to help logistics companies unlock new efficiencies and resilience in their supply chains,” Rovira said. “We see drones not as a novelty, but as a critical tool for tomorrow’s logistics infrastructure.”
