Revolve and Polo Ralph Lauren Partner on an Exclusive Capsule

Revolve and Polo Ralph Lauren have partnered on an exclusive capsule that combines the heritage of Polo Ralph Lauren with Revolve’s signature edge.

The 11-piece collection features elevated essentials in sizes XS to XL, with prices ranging from $188 to $798.

Among the items are knitwear, track jackets and track pants in black and white with yellow and red accents. They also play into Polo’s signature bear with a new interpretation — where the bear is featured on an oversized cotton T with exaggerated sleeves. There’s also a rendition of the Polo player on knitwear.

The capsule is on sale exclusively on Revolve.com.

Divya Mathur, chief merchandising officer and fashion director of Revolve, told WWD it’s the first time the retailer has done a completely exclusive collaboration with Ralph Lauren. She said it came about after a conversation with the brand about Revolve’s business. “They’re really tapping into an aesthetic that our customer loves, and I think there’s a young customer who is just discovering Polo for the first time,” she said.

The capsule draws inspiration from Polo’s archives, specifically from the ’80s and ’90s, said Mathur. “So they pulled a lot of references from racing, ski gear, athletic, and of course their archives are amazing. They have this awesome imagery that was all about bright primary colors, colorblocking and a bold athletic feel that felt like a departure from the classic preppy-ness that the brand is known for. We’re just so excited about this idea of ‘sportswear meets streetwear,’ through that real American lens that Polo always brings,” said Mathur.

The label says Polo Ralph Lauren x Revolve. For now it’s one time only, but they’re flexible to see how it goes, she said.

Revolve has been selling the Polo Ralph Lauren line on their site for the past year-and-a-half.

“Our business with Polo has been just phenomenal. The growth year-over-year is exceptional,” she said. “I think a younger customer is discovering it for the first time. The lens that we bring to it, we’re selling Americana preppy, but also Western. We’re doing so well with their suede pieces, handbags are checking, we’re selling a baseball cap in every single color under the rainbow and they sell it to the piece,” she said.

“Our customer is loving that easy prep, that collegiate feel, all the cable knit sweaters in fun, trendy colors. We’re styling it back to miniskirts, baseball caps, and not making it so classic prep. Our customers are really reacting to that,” she said.
