Air Jordan 4 Retro ‘Black Cat’ 2025 Release Date FV5029-010

One of the year’s most anticipated sneaker releases is almost here.

After months of early leaks and low-resolution imagery, the Air Jordan 4 Retro Black Cat is officially confirmed to be released on Black Friday, Nov. 28. The coveted style has been added to Nike’s Snkrs launch platform with release details.

Following its last reissue in 2020, the Black Cat colorway of Michael Jordan’s fourth signature sneaker will be released for just the third time. With a Black/Black/Light Graphite color combination, the style blacks out the entire nubuck leather upper with lighter graphite accents on the tongue and insole branding. The stealthy look is inspired by one of Jordan’s nicknames, which originated from his panther-like abilities on the court and has been the design muse for several of his sneakers. New to the ’25 iteration is the addition of original-style Nike Air branding.

The Black Cat’s rise to an ultra-coveted colorway has been atypical for sneakers in that it didn’t initially catch on with consumers. During the style’s first release in 2006, pairs were so plentiful at retail that the shoe ended up discounted in many markets. Interest had increased during the colorway’s first rerelease in January 2020 just before the Covid-19 pandemic spread, but it still took some time for the pair to reach the $1,000 resale prices it’s commanded in recent years.

Beyond the three standard Black Cat Air Jordan 4 Retro releases, the look was also referenced in a collaboration with Olivia Kim, senior VP of creative at Nordstrom. Kim’s 2019 version of the sneaker featured a pony hair upper, a spin which was also used on a 2021 golf version of the model. 

Now, the third Black Cat reissue arrives at what should be a perfect storm of consumer demand and available supply. The sneaker will arrive on Nov. 28 from Nike’s Snkrs app and select Jordan Brand retailers worldwide. Retail pricing for the adult size (style code FV5029-010) is $220, with big kids’ sizes priced at $165, little kids at $105 and toddler sizes at $90.
