Elle Fanning’s Fendi dress married demure styling with traditional femininity for the “Sentimental Value” premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.
Styled by Samantha McMillen, who also collaborates with Fanning’s older sister Dakota, the “Predator: Badlands” star wore a delicately designed organza, lace and tulle gown in shades of dusty pink by the Italian luxury fashion house, conveying a modest yet feminine aesthetic style for the special occasion. The dress was designed with inspiration from the label’s fall 2025 ready-to-wear collection.

The actress’ sleeveless dress was designed with a V-shaped neckline and delicate straps, with variations on the intricate lace patterning featured throughout the garment. The shape of the dress included a mostly fitted bodice, with a cinched waist for added silhouette definition and a flowing, fluid skirt with tiered lace detailing throughout.
In McMillen’s description of the look on her Instagram account, the stylist acknowledged the design with “Karl’s lace,” a potential reference to Karl Lagerfeld’s time as the creative director of Fendi from 1965 until his death in 2019.

Fanning followed suit with the delicate finesse of her attire, wearing a simple diamond necklace by Cartier to accessorize her look. The actress serves as a global ambassador for the French luxury jewelry label, joining Cartier in 2023.
When it came to her glam, Fanning embraced the slicked-back bun trend, among the popular styles for the 2025 fall season, by Jenda Alcorn. Makeup artist Erin Ayanian Monroe executed a fresh and clean visage, with bold brows, a lightly lined eye and pink lip.

While promoting both her new films — “Predator: Badlands” and “Sentimental Value” — Fanning’s demonstrated her proclivity and versatility with high-fashion and luxury brands. With McMillen’s styling, the actress has worn pieces from Simone Rocha to Zuhair Murad, Givenchy and more.
Along with her promotional tours, Fanning’s maintained her foothold in fashion. She joined “May December” breakout star Charles Melton for Coach’s 2025 holiday campaign, “The Gift for New Adventures,” featuring Coach bags for the yuletide-inspired spread.
“Sentimental Value” follows the complex relationship between filmmaker Gustav Borg, played by Stellan Skarsgård, and his two estranged daughters, played by Renate Reinsve and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas. The film hits theaters Friday.
