It’s not often that hockey gets featured in sketches on Saturday Night Live, but it’s always magic when it happens. Chance the Rapper’s legendary “let’s do that hockey” skit came out seven years ago, but is still quoted to this day, and now we can add Miles Teller being the world’s most uncomfortable player for the Nashville Predators.
It’s so simple conceptually. We have three players from the Rangers, Kings, and Predators outlining the good work that the NHL does in the community — but everything goes awry when it comes to discussing the charity work of a Predators player, which consistently makes the good works sound so, so wrong.
Clearly this sketch was inspired by the Predators shirt that was released over the summer, and went viral for all the wrong reasons. It doesn’t take an expert to see what went wrong, and it’s a wonder nobody caught it first.
The kicker to the sketch is when we finally learned the player’s name: Chase Kidd, right wing Predator.
