Martha Stewart Named Fashionphile’s 2025 Holiday Brand Ambassador

When Martha Stewart brought her Hermès Birkin 35 in Marron chestnut brown with gold hardware with her to trial in 2004, it was cemented in pop culture history.

Now Fashionphile has named the media mogul the re-commerce platform’s 2025 holiday brand ambassador. Stewart appears in Fashionphile’s latest brand campaign, which was styled by Paolo Nieddu and photographed by Claire Leahy, and showcases Fashionphile’s curation of Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Goyard bags. This is Fashionphile’s third ambassadorship thus far, following Emma Roberts and Nicole Richie.

Fashionphile said Stewart brings polish, the mastery of living and timeless style to the partnership — and embodies the spirit of authenticity and accessible luxury.

“The brand ambassadorship with Martha Stewart underscores Fashionphile’s position as the trusted authority in ultra-luxury resale,” Sophia Tsao, chief digital marketing officer of Fashionphile, told WWD. “Known for her impeccable taste, her involvement highlights the enduring quality and excellent investment value of pre-owned luxury pieces, inviting an entirely new audience to experience the benefits of the circular economy.”

Fashionphile said Stewart and her team have been “longtime admirers” of the luxury resale platform. She first experienced the New York flagship at Fashionphile’s Assouline “Book of Iconic Bags” book launch during this September’s New York Fashion Week, which features an image of Stewart with an Hermès bag.

In an exclusive interview with WWD, Stewart said she was gifted the iconic Birkin bag by a previous boyfriend, who bought it in St. Barths.

“It’s a beautiful brown special leather bag. I carried [my Birkin] during my trial — mainly because it was my only nice handbag,” she continued. “And who knew that it would become a famous symbol of that trial. Now it’s on display at Fashionphile [through December]. I loaned it to them for their display with their new book. It’s been very interesting to see the interest engendered by handbags.”

As part of her partnership with Fashionphile, Stewart has curated an exclusive collection of her favorite pre-loved holiday accessories — available to shop on the platform’s website on Nov. 3.

Stewart also shared that she’s already made her Christmas purchases for her granddaughter and inner circle from Fashionphile. Prada and Louis Vuitton top her assistant and producers’ wish lists.

“[Fashionphile] has such an amazing collection of gorgeous, invaluable stuff — the most beautiful bags,” said Stewart. “I got my granddaughter a Hermès bag, I got her a Chanel bag, I got her a Louis Vuitton bag. She’s 14 and she loves bags. Despite the fact that they’re expensive, they’re so much less than if you went into the stores and bought them there.”

When shopping for secondhand accessories, a bag looking brand new is a top quality she’s seeking out — “I like things that look brand new. Many of these beautifully made bags look brand new for years. My beautiful, Birkin bag looks brand new, even though we got it in 1999 or something. I like my things to last.”

While Stewart doesn’t consider herself a handbag collector per se — given her penchant for living out of the cars she’s hopping in and out of — she leans heavily into shoes and coats. She also shared that she keeps her attic full of clothes she’s worn over the decades from 1990 onward.

Over the years, Stewart, with an eye for taste, has evolved greatly — but she continues to stay true to her adoration of “simple, elegant clothes.” When she first went public in the ’90s, Stewart wore Giorgio Armani suits and lots of Hermès — she still loves Hermès. For a more glam look, Stewart often turned to Brunello Cucinelli. Other brands she’s been seen in include Bottega Veneta, Max Mara and Libertine.

For accessories, Stewart often turns to solitaire diamond earrings and simple rings, with her top jewelry brands including Van Cleef & Arpels’ pendants and Cartier, with the Tank watch in metal bracelet and alligator straps, as a staple piece. And one of her favorite shoe brands remains Manolo Blahnik — “I’ve worn them ever since he came to America.”
