Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason helped the Angel Reese 1s Mebounds colorway make their NBA debut on Monday. The basketball star went on to record 22 points, five rebounds, five assists, and five three-pointers in the team’s 137–109 win over the Brooklyn Nets while wearing her signature Reebok shoes.

The stats marked Eason’s first career 20-5-5 game, which took place at the Toyota Center in Houston. Reese spotted her Reebok sneakers on the court and sent the NBA star some love mid-game via X (formerly known as Twitter).
“Mebounds Look Fireeee,” she wrote, adding fire and heart emojis and tagging Eason and his mom Teroya Eason. The NBA mom reacted to the WNBA star’s message giving her praise and credit for her son’s performance on the court on Monday, writing: “More like Lucky charms! Them two pink mfs brought him back to life young Queen!”

The Angel Reese 1 shoes feature her signature Angel Reese logo on the tongue, Reebok’s patented Energy Return System technology (ERS) underfoot and a molded TPU upper inspired by her elegance and strength while providing stability and durability. A TPU stability cup in the heel is said to add much-needed structure for players.
The shoes were released in September and retailed for $120. They initially came in four different colorways, including the “Receipts Ready,” in white/black/energy red, the “Diamond Dust,” in gray/gray/white, the “Charm City,” in solar purple/black/black, and the “Mebounds,” in paradise pink/astro rose/ftwr white, which are the pair Eason opted for.

“Mebounds” is the basketball term that was inspired by criticism of the WNBA star’s rebounding style. It refers to a player securing their own missed shot as an offensive rebound. The athlete has embraced the term given to her by her detractors, and trademarked it and created merchandise, including naming one of her sneaker colorways after it.
So far, after less than a month, all four colorways are closed to being sold out, with Reebok having just a few sizes available on their website. On Saturday, Reese took to X to celebrate, saying that all four of her shoes have sold out. But for fans looking to get their hands on a pair, the Reebok Angel Reese 1 “Giving Grace” colorway, which will arrive in a slate gray look, will be released in November for a retail price of $120.
Reebok announced the release date for Reese’s signature sneaker in July, along with a statement from the basketball player. “This isn’t just a shoe, it’s my style, my story and my stamp on the game,” Reese said in a press release. “I wanted to design a basketball shoe that elevates performance, innovation, style and creative expression, all at once. Reebok and I built something that’s true to who I am, and I hope it pushes others to stand in their power too.”
