Bergdorf Adds Lucchese Five Signature Men’s Boots to Its Assortment

Bergdorf Goodman is embracing the popularity of Westernwear by adding one of the stalwarts to its mix.

On Monday, the retailer added a collection of Lucchese men’s boots to its offering. The collection features five of the brand’s most popular styles: Jones ($2,395) in black caiman belly leather; Collins ($1,295) in black florence buffalo leather; Devin ($995) in tan ranch hand leather; Gavin ($995) in Lucchese’s signature black cherry on santini goat leather, and Tanner ($895) in chocolate mad dog goat leather.

“Partnering with Bergdorf Goodman marks an exciting new chapter for Lucchese,” said Doug Kindy, president of Lucchese Bootmaker. “Bergdorf Goodman and Lucchese both work to cultivate uncompromising quality. Expanding our retail footprint into New York City with a partner as iconic as Bergdorf Goodman is both a strategic and symbolic milestone. Bergdorf Goodman and Lucchese share a deep-rooted commitment to craftsmanship, quality and legacy. We’re honored to introduce their clientele to Lucchese not only as a Western brand, but as an American luxury house.”

Doug Hogue, vice president of brand and product for Lucchese, said the bootmaker hasn’t had a wholesale presence in New York City for at least 25 years, but the area is among its most popular online. “It’s our third most popular e-comm market outside Texas,” said Angela Hahn, Lucchese’s vice president of retail. “There’s a lot of demand in the New York market.”

Hogue said Lucchese started talking to the Bergdorf team around six months ago and visited them in their New York office. “We had a conversation about our brand, our quality and craftsmanship and our story as an authentic Western lifestyle brand,” he said. From there, the decision to add the line came pretty quickly. “We look to partner with aspirational destinations and Bergdorf’s is a trusted expert for the luxury customer,” Hahn added.

Bergdorf confirmed the addition of Lucchese and said the boots will be available online as well as in its Fifth Avenue flagship. The retailer also offers Western-style boots from Ralph Lauren, Prada and other brands.

Western apparel and footwear are having a major resurgence thanks to the popularity of television shows such as “Yellowstone” and others. Hahn pointed to Post Malone’s Western-themed show in Paris, Kane Brown’s mention of the brand in a recent single and the company’s collection with Chris Stapleton as among the drivers of its business. “With cowboy boots, you can dress them up — we’ve seen a resurgence of them with wedding dresses — or on city streets,” she added.

If the partnership with Bergdorf’s is successful, Lucchese hopes to expand the offering in the future. “It’s a great location and a great department store,” Hogue said. “We’re thrilled and honored to be in partnership with them.”

Luccchese was founded in 1883 in Texas and each of its boots that will be sold at Bergdorf’s are handmade its home state.
