The 4-1 San Francisco 49ers head cross country to take on the 4-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a battle of division leaders. The 49ers are 3.5-point underdogs this week and will be without their starting quarterback Brock Purdy, starting tight end George Kittle and starting wide receiver Ricky Pearsall.
San Franciso’s backup QB Mac Jones is listed as questionable as he battles through a knee injury, but he will reportedly start. Wide receiver Jauan Jennings, who has missed the last two games, has a chance to play as he is listed as questionable also. We’ll take a look at his status and fantasy value on and off the field for this week.
Jauan Jennings injury updates
Jennings has been dealing with ribs and ankle injuries of late. He hadn’t practiced the last two weeks before being listed as out, but this week he returned to limited practices on Thursday and Friday and got the questionable tag.
Fantasy football analysis
At this point, it seems like Jennings will play. He’s played on just one limited Friday practice already and the team is in need with Pearsall and Kittle still out. If he can go, he’ll be the No. 1 receiver for Jones, while Christian McCaffrey will be his other top target. If Jennings sits, Kendrick Bourne and Jake Tonges look to again be the top targets like they were last week in a good matchup. Both would have fantasy appeal in that case. And still do if Jennings plays, but not quite as much.
