Fantasy football waiver wire: Three kickers to consider for Week 6

Welcome to the Week 6 waiver wire watch!

The month of October is underway and another weekend of NFL action is in the books. Several kickers have been having themselves strong seasons so far and in some cases have been the determining factor in fantasy matchups. Unfortunately for top fantasy kicker Spencer Shrader of the Indianapolis Colts, his 2025 season is over as he suffered both a torn ACL and MCL in their victory over the Raiders on Sunday. That opens the door for a number of players to jump up to the top spot in the coming weeks.

We’ll go over some Week 5 performers that you should consider scooping off the waiver wire ahead of Week 6 and as always, we’ll classify a waiver add as someone who is rostered in 50% of leagues at the max.

Week 6 byes: Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings

Joey Slye, K, Tennessee Titans (3.9%)

Tennessee pulled off a chaotic second-half comeback against Arizona on Sunday and was able to notch its first victory of the season in a 22-21 win. Slye was the one who clinched the ‘W’ with a 29-yard walkoff field goal as time expired, capping an afternoon where he went 3-3 on FG attempts and 1-2 on extra points.

Slye has been one of the most consistent things about the Titans this season and has delivered an average of 11.2 fantasy points per game for managers. Something that should be noted is that he’s currently tied with Ka’imi Fairbairn for the most 50+ field goals this season at five, so you know that he’ll be reliable when Tennessee crosses midfield. Given his rostership numbers, he should be readily available in nearly every league.

Week 6 matchup: @ Las Vegas Raiders, 4:05 p.m. ET

Matt Gay, K, Washington Commanders (27.1%)

Gay continued to be a reliable source of points for the Commanders on Sunday, going 2-2 on field goals and 3-3 on extra points in their 27-10 win over the Chargers. He didn’t hit double-digit fantasy points like he did in the two games prior, but it was still a great performance and he’s one of nine kickers averaging at least 10 points per game.

With Jayden Daniels back and healthy for the Commanders offense, he’ll continue to have consistent opportunities to put points on the board and that will be the case for their primetime showdown next Monday night.

Week 6 matchup: vs. Chicago Bears, 8:15 p.m. ET (Monday night)

Eddy Pineiro, K, San Francisco 49ers (2.4%)

San Francisco has continued to show its resiliency in the face of so many injuries to star players and the team gutted out a 26-23 overtime victory over the Rams this past Thursday. Pineiro produced the second-best fantasy performance of the week among kickers with 17 points, going a perfect 4-4 and 2-2 on extra points.

His 11.5 fantasy points per game actually leads the NFL at the moment and he has a chance to maintain that status with Shrader now done for the season. With a rostership of less than 3%, he should be right there when you check the waiver list this week.

Week 6 matchup: @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 4:25 p.m. ET
