Nike Air Max Phenomena Sneaker Loafer ‘Burgundy Crush’ IM8814-600

Nike has a brand new look for its on-trend Air Max Phenomena sneaker loafer and the Burgundy Crush colorway couldn’t be arriving at a more fitting juncture.

The Nike Air Max Phenomena will soon be released in a new Burgundy Crush/Metallic Silver/Burgundy Ash/Black/Pink Foam style. Despite the mouthful of a colorway, the look is relatively simple with a two-tone burgundy look that’s split between a dark leather upper and a slightly lighter shade across the shoe’s mudguard and Air Max-cushioned midsole. A small Metallic Silver Swoosh adorns the forefoot band, while a lone accent of Pink Foam appears on the insole branding. 

This upcoming Air Max Phenomena style is unique in that it is not connected to Nike’s Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC), which helped design the first two colorways of the sneaker loafer hybrid. Those pairs included the shoe’s debut black leather look and a metallic-accented Pearl Pink, the latter of which has not yet been released stateside. 

The Air Max Phenomena debuted at retail in July. Priced at $155, the hybrid model blends the styling of a loafer upper with the tooling of Nike’s Air Max Sndr sneaker. 

The sneaker loafer trend took the footwear world by storm in September 2024 when New Balance introduced its 1906L model. While the Charlotte Lee-designed shoe was far from the first to combine loafer and sneaker aesthetics, it’s largely credited for popularizing the concept. Nearly every major footwear company including Nike, Inc.’s own Jordan Brand have introduced a version of the look.

This latest Nike Air Max Phenomena doesn’t yet have a confirmed release date, but it’s expected to be released this fall exclusively in women’s sizing for a retail price of $155. The sneaker’s style code is IM8814-600. Readers can expect availability from nike.com and select Nike retailers.
