Brock Bowers injury update: How to handle Raiders TE vs. Chargers in Week 2

The Las Vegas Raiders host the Los Angeles Chargers in the second half of a Monday Night Football doubleheader to close out Week 2, and they are dealing with a key injury. The team listed tight end Brock Bowers as questionable on the final report after he sat out practice on Thursday and Friday.

Brock Bowers injury updates

Bowers injured his knee late in the Raiders Week 1 opener when he did not seem to have any contact with a defender on the play. He said after the game he wanted to keep playing but the trainers wouldn’t let him. After the game, he told the media he would be fine for Week 2. It’s hard to take a player seriously, but head coach Pete Carroll did say on Saturday that Bowers “looked terrific” and he expects him to play on Monday.

Fantasy football analysis

If we take Carroll at his word, then you should slot Bowers into your lineups like usual. However, the listing of questionable does leave open the possibility of some shenanigans. It’s entirely possible the team ends up deactivating him at the last minute, or has him active, but playing very little. There’s no way to no for sure, so you should have an alternative ready. You could pick up Chargers tight end Will Dissly if you need a last minute replacement option. I think we see Bowers playing, but consider some alternative is Bucs vs. Texans. The Bucs tight end is Cade Otton and the Texans tight end is Dalton Schultz. Check if they’re available ahead of tomorrow and if you have a free roster spot, it might be worth stashing one just in case.
