DroneShield Ukraine counter-drone partnership – DRONELIFE

AI-driven counter-drone capabilities strengthened through regional support

DroneShield (ASX:DRO) has announced the expansion of its support for Ukraine through a newly established local partnership. The move builds on the company’s role as a counter-drone (C-UAS) provider in the country since the beginning of hostilities, supplying systems that defend military, infrastructure, and civilian assets from evolving aerial threats.

AI Capabilities Enhanced Through Battlefield Experience

DroneShield has operated in the counter-drone sector for more than a decade. The company has used operational feedback from Ukraine to advance artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) capabilities across its detection and mitigation systems. According to the company, experience under active combat conditions has sharpened performance, improving detection speed, accuracy, and adaptability against emerging drone tactics.

“The conflict in Ukraine has crystallized what forward-looking militaries already recognized: the need for advanced, adaptive counter-drone solutions is now a matter of national resilience, not optional investment,” said Oleg Vornik, Chief Executive Officer of DroneShield. “Our work in Ukraine, while only one element of our global operations, has proven pivotal in advancing the sophistication of our AI, with profound benefits for all our users worldwide.”

Local Support for Ukrainian Customers

The undisclosed partnership will ensure Ukrainian customers receive local technical support and rapid updates while enabling secure intelligence sharing with DroneShield headquarters. The company noted that strict confidentiality protocols are in place to protect operational security.

DroneShield emphasized that while Ukraine remains significant both symbolically and technologically, it represents only a small share of its broader global market. The company’s systems are active in more than 40 countries across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Rising global demand for AI-powered counter-UAS solutions, the company said, reflects a growing recognition that “no allied nation can afford to wait for conflict before adopting resilient, next-generation drone defense.”

DroneShield’s Global Role

DroneShield provides handheld, on-the-move, and deployable base protection counterdrone solutions used by military, government, law enforcement, and commercial entities worldwide. Its portfolio includes products such as the RfPatrol Mk2, which has been deployed in Ukraine.
