Vega HighSite airspace management – DRONELIFE

New solution enables safe and scalable drone operations for commercial and government sites

High Lander Aviation has introduced Vega HighSite, a localized airspace management suite designed for commercial organizations and governmental authorities. This new platform allows safe, compliant drone operations in defined areas—without the delays often associated with large-scale aviation oversight.

The company, known for its UAS Traffic Management (UTM) and drone fleet management software, designed Vega HighSite to support the increasing demand for unmanned aircraft at industrial sites, ports, offshore facilities, and urban areas.

“With Vega HighSite, we’re providing the professional-grade airspace management capabilities necessary to enable the seamless operation of drones at scale, with complete safety and compliance, and without the red tape,” said Alon Abelson, CEO and founder of High Lander.

Supporting Scalable Drone Ecosystems

Vega HighSite provides localized management services for complex airspaces and supports both visual and beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drone operations. The platform is fully scalable and enables coordinated operations for multiple operators and drone types.

High Lander built Vega HighSite in response to requests from aviation authorities and organizations for focused, site-specific solutions. These include secure operations for industrial zones, technology development sandboxes, and municipal territories.

“The services of the Vega Hub were built for national scale airspace management, and we have proved this capability,” Abelson explained. “At the same time, aviation authorities and diverse organizations have conveyed to us a need for localized airspace management services.”

Enabling New Use Cases and R&D

Vega HighSite was developed to serve industries adopting drones for security, logistics, inspection, environmental monitoring, and more. The suite allows safe operation in environments where drone use is growing rapidly but still requires regulatory compliance and coordination with manned aircraft.

The system also supports the creation of UAS sandboxes—designated areas where new drone technologies can be tested in a controlled environment. This helps governments prepare for broader drone integration while managing risk.

“Vega HighSite is an excellent tool that provides civil aviation authorities with controlled exposure to the world of UTM technology,” said Abelson. “Thanks to HighSite, authorities have a way to test the waters before they dive in.”

A Complete Airspace Management Package

Vega HighSite consists of three integrated components:

  • Vega UTM: Delivers real-time air traffic monitoring and deconfliction.

  • Vega CIS: A common information system for sharing airspace restrictions.

  • Vega Fly: A mobile app that allows drone pilots to register and get fast flight authorizations.

Additional features include compliance monitoring, weather overlays, communication tools, and alert systems. Site managers can also access billing mechanisms, permission controls, and integration with counter-UAS technology.

Pilots connect their aircraft through the Vega Fly app using Network ID, a standard feature in most enterprise drones or available via a lightweight add-on device. Vega HighSite also integrates with High Lander’s Orion platform, which provides a command center for drone fleet operations.

“There are so many sites that can greatly benefit from the free operation of precision, low-altitude aircraft and the enhanced efficiency, safety and economic opportunities that they bring,” said Shahar Amiel, VP Strategy & Growth at High Lander. “HighSite provides the robust safety infrastructure and regulatory compliance that makes this possible, in one intuitive package.”
