We are living in the year of Keegan Bradley.
The Ryder Cup Captain is at the center of the world of golf these days as everyone wants to know whether or not he is going to be teeing it up at Bethpage Black when the United States tries to hold off the European side. For what it’s worth, I think he absolutely should.
A winner on the PGA Tour this season at the Travelers (a signature event at that), Keegan has proven that his game is in incredible form. It is remarkable that he is balancing his captain duties while playing on Tour in general, but it is even more amazing when you consider that he has also taken up a side gig of sorts… acting!
Professional golf has been delivering top stories all season long, but that has also been happening on Apple TV with Stick. I can speak from personal experience as my wife and I have been absorbing every episode as they have dropped. The show follows Pryce Cahill (played by Owen Wilson), a former top professional player who fell apart due to a variety of factors off of the course, and his attempt to re-find success through an up-and-coming player he discovers in Santi (played by Peter Dager).
New episodes drop every Wednesday with the ninth (there are 10 total) coming this week. While Wilson and Dager have been great in their roles to date they are indeed getting some help from the ranks of professional golf as noted.
That’s right. Keegan Bradley is on this week’s episode. You can see a teaser below.
Keegan is quite clearly very comfortable in front of a camera and able to handle the bright lights that Apple TV has to offer. That will be good to know come September as all eyes will be upon him, even if he is “only” just serving as the U.S. Captain.
Seriously though, Stick has been a great breath of fresh air in terms of golf-centralized television and that they were able to land Keegan for a cameo is a testament to how well the show is put together and run.
You can watch Keegan’s debut on Wednesday as noted!
