The year of the Nike Air Max 95 is only growing more prolific, as Eric Koston has confirmed leaks of a three-way collaboration bringing Nike SB into the fold just as Nike and Levi’s have announced their own three-sneaker collaboration on the silhouette.
Koston, the pro skater who’s been riding for Nike’s skateboarding division since 2009, reposted leaked images of the Eric Koston x Nike SB Air Max 95 to his Instagram story Monday. Many observers instantly compared the white, blue and gold sneaker to the original “Michigan” Air Max 95 colorway because of the University of Michigan’s blue and gold. But the more likely explanation is that the hues were chosen for the connection to California, where Koston grew up in San Bernardino after being born in Thailand, as blue and gold are the state’s official colors and are also used by institutions including the University of California and the Golden State Warriors.
Aside from the color makeup on the suede and nubuck upper, Koston’s Air Max 95 features his last name interpolated into the right tongue logo, and “Nike” is embroidered in Thai on the lateral toe tip. On the heel, you’ll also find a special “Nike SB Air” mark.
Koston reposted leaked images from the Instagram user @yyt_snkrs along with the caption, “lol my sh*t leaked,” and he also commented on an Instagram post from another outlet, “Bruh…who’s hand is that? …lmfao leaking my shiii.”
Prior to this leak, images have also surfaced for another Nike SB Air Max 95 collaboration with two colorways slated to release in 2026. One iteration mixes shades of white with pink detailing, while a wear test sample was more straightforward in black and white.
Nike SB has previously collaborated on the Air Jordan 4 in two colorways, with updates to the silhouette including a return to the 1989 toe box for better fit, more flexible plastic paneling, and a grippier outsole. Details about how the Air Max 95 might have been transformed have yet to be revealed, but it will likely feature subtle changes oriented toward skateboarding.
2025 marks the 30th anniversary for the Air Max 95, and Nike has had a steady outpouring of colorways including several making use of a “Big Bubble” closer to that from the shoe’s original run.
The Eric Koston x Nike SB Air Max 95 doesn’t yet have a firm release date but is expected to release during the holiday season. Pricing is set at $200.
