Adidas and Hermanos Koumori Release New Collaboration and Ultraboost 5

Adidas has announced the launch of the Ultraboost 5 x Hermanos Koumori, marking the first drop in a multiseason collaboration with the renowned Mexican brand Hermanos Koumori. The launch, available now, marks the start of a partnership between the apparel giant and the streetwear brand that aims to blend culture and performance.

The limited-edition release is inspired by the modern nomad and people who have a deep appreciation for nature and the great outdoors. The collaboration merges Adidas‘ cutting-edge footwear technology with the comfort and versatility needed for exploring the natural world in style.

The design of the Ultraboost 5 x Hermanos Koumori is inspired by the Monte Alto natural reserve in Mexico. From there, the Hermanos Koumori team drew inspiration from hand-selected natural elements, including leaves and rocks from the area, to create photographic representations in their designs through manual graphic techniques. That resulted in the collection having an earthy color palette to match Mexico’s rich landscapes.

The collaboration delivers an updated model of Adidas’ popular Ultraboost silhouette. The sneaker includes a newly designed mesh and textile upper that promises to provide comfort and support. The Light Boost midsole features 9-mm more foam under the heel and forefoot than the Ultraboost Light 1, resulting in a lighter shoe, superior cushioning, and a 2 percent increase in energy return at the forefoot. The sneaker also features a Continental rubber outsole for added traction.

The Ultraboost 5 x Hermanos Koumori is available in limited quantities. The collaboration also includes an apparel collection featuring a crop top, a singlet, and 2-in-1 shorts, which all come in the natural hues palette to match the shoes. The sneakers are retailing for $190, and the apparel collection ranges from $55 to $150.

Hermanos Koumori was launched in 2018 by Alex Sandler and Alex Leon. The brand has since been redefining running apparel in Mexico, and is known for its graphical streetwear inspired by running and rooted in Aztec and Mayan cultures. H. Koumori has evolved from a streetwear-inspired project to a performance-focused name and before Adidas, the brand has also collaborated with other brands like Awake and New Era.
