Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry foreshadowed the misty storyline to come in Netflix’s “Ginny & Georgia” in Y2K-inspired smoky eye looks at the season three advance screening in New York City on Wednesday. The two actresses star as the leads of the dramatic comedy, which first premiered in February 2021.
Howey arrived outside 92NY with a dusty black shadow painted across her crease and layered on top of an opaque ivory shadow stamped on her lids. The outer edges of her eyes were lined in black liner, carrying down beneath her waterline. Her lipstick color settled somewhere between nude and pale pink.

For Gentry’s smoky eye, the 27-year-old actress juxtaposed shimmery burnt peach tones with a kaleidoscope of brown, earthy tones. Black liner was smudged along the shape of her eyes and popped in the inner corners. Apart from the freckles scattered across her nose and cheekbones, her base was kept clean and simple, no blush with only a touch of bronzer and highlighter.

Earlier this week, Gentry worked with makeup artist Charlie Riddle for the first day of the press tour. However, it’s not confirmed he was behind her most recent look. Howey, on the other hand, has collaborated with a handful of celebrity makeup artists in the past, including Kindra Mann and Jenti Oseco.
Both women have donned similar smoky eyes for past red carpets and photo shoots, especially Howey, who tends to partner the early 2000s aesthetic with her dirty blond waves. However, the bold eye makeup felt particularly fitting for the screening of “Ginny & Georgia” season three as fans of the show expect to see a sinister plot play out in the coming episodes after the major cliffhanger at the end of season two which saw Georgia, Howey’s character, get arrested for murder.
Instead of the natural coiled curls she often wears in her titular role as Ginny, Gentry’s hair was flattened and waved for Wednesday’s event. Her bouncy, deep brown locks were tamed for the early stops on the press tour, too, and styled by Marty Harper.
Last year, Gentry launched a partnership with Aveda as a fresh face for the brand’s Be Curly Advanced collection. She spoke to WWD about how the new line of curly hair care products helped maintain her organic hair type after years of searching for the right formulas.
“Ever since I was young, there’s just been a growing and growing collection of curly hair products spilling out in my bathroom but sort of a trial and error, it’s overwhelming and when you find something that does work and does stick which I feel like I have with Be Curly — it is so relieving, it’s simplified my life a lot,” she said.
Season three of “Ginny & Georgia” is streaming now on Netflix.
