Margaret Qualley was at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday her new film “Honey Don’t,” a queer detective flick. Qualley stars alongside the likes of Chris Evans and Aubrey Plaza in the movie.
Qualley wore a black leather halter dress from Chanel. The custom piece featured an open back. The sleek dress also included pockets at the hips.

For shoes, Qualley wore a pair of black slingback heels from Chanel. The style included a black cap-toe which is a signature of the brand. While the upper is largely made of leather, the cap-toe is made of grosgrain. The toe is also a pointed silhouette.
The shoe has a rounded vamp and a stiletto heel of about four inches. There’s also a small buckle. The heel was shown in 2024 under Virginie Viard.

Qualley has maintained a close relationship with Chanel. She’s appeared on the runway for the label three times since 2021. She’s opened shows and closed them.
“I always value comfort over style kind of across the board,” she told WWD previously. As such, this week at Cannes was not the first time she wore flats on a red carpet. She wore a pair of slingback flats to the 2025 Golden Globes in January.
Qualley was styled by Danielle Goldberg, who also works with Ayo Edebiri, Greta Lee and Saoirse Ronan.
On Friday evening, Qualley arrived on the red carpet in an off-the-shoulder custom Chanel gown with a trailing train, inspired by a 1990 look first worn by Claudia Schiffer. For shoes, Qualley wore slick Chanel bicolor ballet flats—a departure from the high styles typically worn on Cannes red carpets.
