Draganfly and Autonome Labs Launch Demining Drone Solution

New system combines heavy-lift drone and smart mesh to clear landmines safely and efficiently

Draganfly and Autonome Labs Launch Aerial Demining Drone Partnership

Draganfly Inc., a long-time innovator in drone systems, has announced a new teaming agreement with Autonome Labs, a company focused on humanitarian technology. Together, they will develop an unmanned aerial system to deploy Autonome’s mesh-based landmine clearance solution, known as M.A.G.I.C. (Mine and Ground Inert Clearance).

The collaboration will use Draganfly’s Heavy Lift drone platform to deliver Autonome’s demining mesh across dangerous areas. This mesh is designed to detect, neutralize, and detonate landmines, helping speed up land clearance while keeping human teams out of harm’s way.

Safer Operations in Post-Conflict Zones

The integrated system aims to solve a major challenge in demining operations: safety. Landmines continue to pose a threat in post-conflict areas, making land inaccessible for farming, development, and safe community use.

“This partnership reflects the best of what our technology is capable of, saving lives, rebuilding communities, and bringing hope where it’s needed most,” said Cameron Chell, CEO of Draganfly.

Autonome’s M.A.G.I.C. mesh will be deployed using Draganfly’s Heavy Lift platform, which is known for its payload capacity and flight accuracy. The drone will be adapted to fly at low altitudes and release the mesh with high precision.

Combining Strengths for Real-World Impact

Autonome Labs brings deep expertise in building autonomous systems for use in extreme conditions. The company’s COO, Kyle Debanks, highlighted the value of joining forces with Draganfly:

“Our collaboration with Draganfly represents a critical step forward in the way autonomous technologies are deployed in high-risk environments,” said Debanks. “By combining our smart demining mesh system with Draganfly’s proven drone platform, we’re enabling a safer, more scalable solution for clearing dangerous terrain—ultimately protecting lives and restoring access to vital land.”

Field Testing Planned for 2025

Draganfly and Autonome Labs will begin integration and testing of the system in 2025. The partners plan to launch pilot deployments in areas affected by conflict later in the year.

Both companies say the project will help demonstrate how drone and robotic systems can directly support humanitarian and rebuilding efforts.
