Houston Open: TV, How to Watch, Round 1 & 2 Tee Times, and more

Before the best players in professional golf head to Augusta National for The Masters, the PGA Tour is doing a little Texas two-step with two tournaments held in the Lone Star State.

First up is the Texas Children’s Houston Open, which will be held at Memorial Park Golf Course for the fifth straight season. This municipal course, which sees more than 60,000 rounds and is a bargain for Houston residents, first hosted the Houston Open in 1947 and then again from 1951 to 1964. It returned to the course in 2020, one year after renowned architect Tom Doak completed a terrific renovation.

Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy headline the field in what will be their last event before the first major of the season. Other notables include Tony Finau, Jason Day, and Min Woo Lee.

Maybe someone like Stephan Jaegar will win again this year — the German fended off the likes of Scheffler and Finau a year ago, winning for the first time by a stroke. Scheffler had a chance to force a playoff, but he missed a six footer for birdie on the 18th green that would have tied Jaeger. Remarkably, Scheffler’s runner-up finish came after a pair of wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players and preceded two more victories at Augusta and Harbour Town. Yes, Scheffler posted win, win, T-2, win, win over a five-event stretch last year.
