British electronic musician and producer Mark Pritchard is teaming up with Radiohead and the Smile frontman Thom Yorke for a collaborative new album. Their debut LP together, Tall Tales, is out May 9 via Warp. The duo has shared a new single, “This Conversation Is Missing Your Voice,” which comes with a transfixing black-and-white music video directed by Jonathan Zawada. Check it out below.
“This Conversation Is Missing Your Voice” is the second single Pritchard and Yorke have shared from Tall Tales. It follows last month’s track “Back in the Game,” which the two recently performed live for the first time at the Sydney Opera House, surprising fans at Pritchard’s headlining gig.
A press release describes Zawada as an unofficial “third member” of the group, with his music videos for both singles making up “part of a feature length film that he has developed over the past few years in tandem with the development of the music.”
Pritchard and Yorke’s friendship extends far back, with the two working together on “Beautiful People,” from the former’s 2016 album, Under the Sun. Pritchard’s last LP under his own name, The Four Worlds, came out in 2018. Meanwhile, the Smile shared two records, Wall of Eyes and Cutouts, last year.
